ROMA, Mexes Agent Tells To Sign Ben Arfa
The French international, who was voted Young Player of the Year in France, is regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in the whole of Europe.
The 21-year-old has been linked with a host of top European teams, but Olivier Jouanneaux, the agent of Philippe Mexes, is pleading with Roma to sign the winer.
"I know that Roma have followed Ben Arfa,” Jouanneaux told Il Romanista.
“For me, after Benzema, he is the biggest talent in the French championship.
“Maybe it is a gamble, because he has a fiery character, but I assure you that he is not as bad as [Antonio] Cassano.”
Jouanneaux believes that Ben Arfa, who is of Tunisian descent, would be the perfect replacement for the departing Amantino Mancini.
“He is someone that makes the difference on the pitch, he could dribble past the entire opposing team, and is perfect for the role of Mancini.
“How much will he cost? Something like €13m, He is of the same generation of Nasri and Benzema, the class of ’87. He is a safe investment."

Roy4l #1863 Selon L'Equipe, le très veloce milieu de terrain du LOSC, Jean II Makoun, devrait signer dans la journée un contrat de 4 saisons avec l'OL. Il retrouverait deux de ses anciens coéquipiers, Mathieu Bodmer et Kader Keita. On parle d'un contrat de 15M€. Pisté notamment par le Shakhtar Donetsk, l'international camérounais a fait part de sa volonté de partir et de "grandir" dans un club de plus haut rang. Si Arsenal avait ses faveurs, il semble que la venue de Puel et les arguments du président Aulas aient fait mouche. Makoun était aussi suivi par l'OM, Monaco, la Juventus, Manchester City et Tottenham. Le joueur, âgé de 25 ans et formé au LOSC, doit passer ce lundi une partie de la visite médicale préalable à la signature de son contrat.

Malgré la réticence des dirigeants lillois et devant la volonté de l'ancien monégasque de partir en terres rhodaniennes, l'Olympique Lyonnais devrait officiellement enrőler aujourd'hui Claude Puel selon L'Equipe. "Je pense que j'ai besoin d'un nouveau challenge. Je suis sous contrat au LOSC et je suis respectueux de celui-ci. Cependant, j'espère que mon président me comprendra. Je pense que pour toutes les parties, c'est peut-être le bon moment pour partir." disait-il en substance il y a quelques jours. L'entraineur du LOSC devrait cumuler les postes d'entraineur et de manager de l'équipe. Il retrouvera plusieurs de ses joueurs comme Bodmer, Keita et certainement Makoun. Dans les colonnes de La Provence, on apprend que les dirigeants de l'OM seraient toujours en négociation avec les représentants de l'international français, Hatem Ben Arfa, et que les discussions buteraient sur des questions salariales. Le salaire actuel du joueur est de 200 000€ et ce dernier souhaiterait avoir en net ce que l'OM lui propose en brut. Avant de faire une offre au président Aulas, Pape Diouf souhaite d'abord trouver un accord avec le joueur pour ensuite négocier avec le club l'indemnité de transfert. Toujours est-il que les 15M€ que demande l'Olympique Lyonnais ne semblent plus être un obstacle majeur pour les phocéens et la piste Ben Arfa semble réellement envisagée par le staff phocéen.

Pas encore intronisé que déjà l'ancien monégasque envisage les possibles recrues. Outre Milito et Makoun, Abidal y figure en très bonne place. Transféré l'été dernier au Barça pour 14M€, on verrait pourtant mal l'international français revenir et ce d'autant que ce retour serait l'aveu d'un échec pour le gaucher et qu'Abidal a clamé qu'il souhaitait rester chez les blaugrana (il est en contrat avec Barcelone jusqu'en 2011). Cependant, Puel aurait l'avantage d'avoir dirigé le joueur dans deux autres clubs (Monaco et Lille). Claude Puel has accepted an offer to become manager of French champions Lyon, according France Football magazine, while the club renewed their determination to hang onto Karim Benzema.
Puel told Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas he agreed to leave Ligue 1 rivals Lille and sign a four-year contract with Les Gones, said the magazine.
Puel would replace Alain Perrin, who guided Lyon to their first domestic league and cup double last season.
Lyon - who won their seventh consecutive title last season - suggested earlier this month that Perrin's days in charge were numbered by saying a new structure was needed and a manager with a wider mission and a long-term contract would be appointed.
Puel's priority will be to help Lyon make an impact in Europe at last.
The dominant force in France for years, Lyon have never advanced past the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Aulas, meanwhile, responded to suggestions that he would be prepared to sell star striker Benzema if the price was right by joking that "for 40 million euros I would sell Benzema's ear".
With Real Madrid, Arsenal and Manchester United all reportedly interested in the 20-year-old France hit-man, Aulas was keen to point out that the local lad had just signed a new contract.
"It's not a question of money," he continued. "Benzema has renewed his deal and he is excited about defending our title and trying to succeed in the Champions League.
"Doing well in Europe is his only objective."

Selon le journal Le Parisien, le FC Séville serait intéressé par le défenseur central de l'Olympique Lyonnais, Sébastien Squillaci, et aurait déjà fait parvenir au club de Jean-Michel Aulas, une proposition de 5M€ pour s'attacher les services de l'international français. Trop peu pour que les dirigeants lyonnais lâchent l'ancien monégasque. Squillaci serait, lui, enthousiaste à l'idée de rejoindre la Liga et de former avec Escudé une charnière 100% française en Andalousie. La concurrence avec Boumsong et le retour de Cris pousserait le joueur à vouloir voir ailleurs tandis que les dirigeants souhaiteraient aussi alléger la masse salariale du club. The Sweden international was targeted by Spanish club Sevilla last season but the 25-year-old remained at the Stade Gerland, where he has been since joining from Rennes in 2006.
But the former Djurgardens player says he is now ready to consider a move away from the seven-time French champions, with clubs in England and Italy, as well as in Spain, on red alert.
"It would be to fun to try my luck in one of the big leagues," Kallstrom told Sportbladet.
"I have spent my entire professional career in France, I really enjoy life there and it's a very good league.
"But the truth is that Spain, Italy and England are bigger leagues and it would be fun to play in one of them at some point of my career, but we'll see when and where.
He added: "I have been in touch with them before so we'll see what happens."
Kallstrom is currently on international duty with Sweden at Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland.
Lyon forward Karim Benzema has admitted he would prefer a move to Real Madrid over Manchester United.
The Ligue 1 player of the year, who is currently with the France squad at Euro 2008, has long been linked to the Red Devils, who are currently trying to stave off attempts to lure winger Cristiano Ronaldo to the Bernabeu.
Benzema, 20, has repeatedly stressed that he wants to remain in France for the time being in order to gain more experience.
But he told Spanish newspaper Marca that a move to Madrid is something that would interest him in the future.
He said: "I like Real Madrid, but I think that I'm still too young to sign for a club like that.
"I think that I need to get more experience and I'd like to help Lyon be a European champion.
"Then, in the future, we'll see what happens."
In March Benzema signed a contract extension to keep him at the club until 2013, with an option of increasing the deal for a further year.
New Lyon starlet Miralem Pjanic has spoken of his joy after officially signing for Les Gones following a protracted transfer saga.
The teenage Bosnian playmaker agreed to join the French champions from Ligue 1 rivals Metz for a fee in the region of 7.5 million euros (£6 million).
"I had many options at my disposal that were either in France or abroad," he said after being presented to fans. "But from the start I was looking to sign for a big club.
"For this, Lyon was perfect, in as much as I wanted to stay in France. Once Lyon made their interest clear, there was no hesitation. I am really proud to be at Lyon.
Pjanic responded to questions asking if he feared the responsibility of playing for such a big club at such a young age with confidence.
"I'm not worried, not at all," he continued. "I have to maintain my form and progression so I can help Lyon win a new trophy.
"At 18 years old, I will not get annoyed if I don't play - there's no pressure.
"I will have the chance to develop alongside some great players - I have a lot to learn."
Lyon won a seventh consecutive domestic title last season, but once again disappointed in Europe, casting the future of manager Alain Perrin into doubt after just one season at the helm.
O.L striker Sidney Govou, tracked by Roma, where he could replace Amantino Mancini, has declared: "I am focused on the European Championship, there will be time to talk about my future".

Roy4l #1835 A francia első osztály vége óta érezni lehetett, hogy Alain Perrin nem maradhat a bajnok Lyonnál. A Sochaux-val is Francia Kupát nyerő szakember jövője is egyre inkább körvonalazódni látszik, a hírek szerint ő lesz a Galatasaray következő szakvezetője.
Az még kérdéses, hogy az OL-nél ki veszi át Perrin helyét, de sokan legszívesebben Dider Deschamp-t látnák a kispadon.
A döntés természetesen Jean-Michel Aulas kezében van. -

*Loic Remy has officially signed with Nice for €8m. According to the Lyon website, another €3m could be added in terms of incentives over the next four years - but I’m a bit unclear if that €3m is for Nice or Lyon. It doesn’t make sense why Nice would get €3m from Lyon after already paying €8m, so I’m a little foggy on the exact details. There is also a rumor that if Nice choose to sell him before his contract ends, Lyon have the option of buying him back for €12m. I have no idea if it’s true though.
* Another youth academy graduate, Lossémy Karaboué, signed for Ligue 2 club Sedan a few days ago. He was a promising player (and one of Corey’s favorites), but unfortunately, Lyon had no room for him - not even on the bench. So he’s doing the next best thing - proving himself at an L2 club, and if he really has the talent, we’ll be seeing him back in the topflight soon enough.
* But one academy player that Lyon did have room for was Pierrick Valdivia (no relation to Jorge, I’m afraid), a midfielder who was also in the reserves. He was taken along with the rest of the squad on their trip to Dubai, where he played in the friendly against Al-Shabab. Valdivia scored a goal and also got red carded, so I’m guessing he made a good impression.
* Werder Bremen have offered €10m for Fred. As far as I’m aware, Fred is happy at Lyon - for now. But I’m sure we’ll hear more about this later.
* No word yet on who the coach will be though I expect we may find out as early as next week. I’m praying it’s not Vanderlei Luxemburgo.
* Fiorentina are REALLY interested in Anthony Reveillere and have already offered him a contract. Lyon are demanding €7m. I’m not sure what Reveillere’s response was or if Fiorentina will meet Aulas’s demands.
* In the event Reveillere does leave, Lyon have expressed their interest in Mickaël Chrétien of Nancy and Stephan Lichtsteiner of Lille.
* Cleber Anderson will be loaned to a Brazilian club - Sao Paulo and Corinthians are the two most likely destinations.
* Fabio Grosso is being pursued bu Juventus, Roma, and Fiorentina. Thankfully, he’s reaffirmed that he’ll be staying at Lyon. Good. I’ve gotten attached to his personality, and I think is playing as really improved from what it was when he first came here.
* Atletico Madrid, Portsmouth, and now Roma have lodged their interest in Sidney Govou, who is considering leaving. Yeah right. He just wants a fatter contract.
* Lyon are interested in Real Zaragoza’s Diego Milito and Sevilla’s Luis Fabiano. I have my doubts on either of those two choosing Lyon, but who knows, right?
* Soufiane Alloudi of Al Ain is a Lyon target, though Marseille want him really badly as well. My theory is that Aulas is interested just to piss Pape Diouf off.
* Aulas has put a €20, price tag on Hatem Ben Arfa’s head, which is about €15m in real money. Marseille and PSG are the most interested, but there are foreign clubs as well.
* Sevilla are prepared to offer €14m for Kim Kallstrom. This is one deal I expect Aulas to take. -
