Lyon midfielder Kim Kallstrom has revealed he is ready for a new challenge in one of the big European leagues.
The Sweden international was targeted by Spanish club Sevilla last season but the 25-year-old remained at the Stade Gerland, where he has been since joining from Rennes in 2006.
But the former Djurgardens player says he is now ready to consider a move away from the seven-time French champions, with clubs in England and Italy, as well as in Spain, on red alert.
"It would be to fun to try my luck in one of the big leagues," Kallstrom told Sportbladet.
"I have spent my entire professional career in France, I really enjoy life there and it's a very good league.
"But the truth is that Spain, Italy and England are bigger leagues and it would be fun to play in one of them at some point of my career, but we'll see when and where.
He added: "I have been in touch with them before so we'll see what happens."
Kallstrom is currently on international duty with Sweden at Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland.
Lyon forward Karim Benzema has admitted he would prefer a move to Real Madrid over Manchester United.
The Ligue 1 player of the year, who is currently with the France squad at Euro 2008, has long been linked to the Red Devils, who are currently trying to stave off attempts to lure winger Cristiano Ronaldo to the Bernabeu.
Benzema, 20, has repeatedly stressed that he wants to remain in France for the time being in order to gain more experience.
But he told Spanish newspaper Marca that a move to Madrid is something that would interest him in the future.
He said: "I like Real Madrid, but I think that I'm still too young to sign for a club like that.
"I think that I need to get more experience and I'd like to help Lyon be a European champion.
"Then, in the future, we'll see what happens."
In March Benzema signed a contract extension to keep him at the club until 2013, with an option of increasing the deal for a further year.
New Lyon starlet Miralem Pjanic has spoken of his joy after officially signing for Les Gones following a protracted transfer saga.
The teenage Bosnian playmaker agreed to join the French champions from Ligue 1 rivals Metz for a fee in the region of 7.5 million euros (£6 million).
"I had many options at my disposal that were either in France or abroad," he said after being presented to fans. "But from the start I was looking to sign for a big club.
"For this, Lyon was perfect, in as much as I wanted to stay in France. Once Lyon made their interest clear, there was no hesitation. I am really proud to be at Lyon.

"I will have the chance to develop alongside some great players - I have a lot to learn."
Lyon won a seventh consecutive domestic title last season, but once again disappointed in Europe, casting the future of manager Alain Perrin into doubt after just one season at the helm.
O.L striker Sidney Govou, tracked by Roma, where he could replace Amantino Mancini, has declared: "I am focused on the European Championship, there will be time to talk about my future".

A francia elsõ osztály vége óta érezni lehetett, hogy Alain Perrin nem maradhat a bajnok Lyonnál. A Sochaux-val is Francia Kupát nyerõ szakember jövõje is egyre inkább körvonalazódni látszik, a hírek szerint õ lesz a Galatasaray következõ szakvezetõje.

*Loic Remy has officially signed with Nice for €8m. According to the Lyon website, another €3m could be added in terms of incentives over the next four years - but I’m a bit unclear if that €3m is for Nice or Lyon. It doesn’t make sense why Nice would get €3m from Lyon after already paying €8m, so I’m a little foggy on the exact details. There is also a rumor that if Nice choose to sell him before his contract ends, Lyon have the option of buying him back for €12m. I have no idea if it’s true though.
* Another youth academy graduate, Lossémy Karaboué, signed for Ligue 2 club Sedan a few days ago. He was a promising player (and one of Corey’s favorites), but unfortunately, Lyon had no room for him - not even on the bench. So he’s doing the next best thing - proving himself at an L2 club, and if he really has the talent, we’ll be seeing him back in the topflight soon enough.
* But one academy player that Lyon did have room for was Pierrick Valdivia (no relation to Jorge, I’m afraid), a midfielder who was also in the reserves. He was taken along with the rest of the squad on their trip to Dubai, where he played in the friendly against Al-Shabab. Valdivia scored a goal and also got red carded, so I’m guessing he made a good impression.
* Werder Bremen have offered €10m for Fred. As far as I’m aware, Fred is happy at Lyon - for now. But I’m sure we’ll hear more about this later.
* No word yet on who the coach will be though I expect we may find out as early as next week. I’m praying it’s not Vanderlei Luxemburgo.
* Fiorentina are REALLY interested in Anthony Reveillere and have already offered him a contract. Lyon are demanding €7m. I’m not sure what Reveillere’s response was or if Fiorentina will meet Aulas’s demands.
* In the event Reveillere does leave, Lyon have expressed their interest in Mickaël Chrétien of Nancy and Stephan Lichtsteiner of Lille.
* Cleber Anderson will be loaned to a Brazilian club - Sao Paulo and Corinthians are the two most likely destinations.
* Fabio Grosso is being pursued bu Juventus, Roma, and Fiorentina. Thankfully, he’s reaffirmed that he’ll be staying at Lyon. Good. I’ve gotten attached to his personality, and I think is playing as really improved from what it was when he first came here.
* Atletico Madrid, Portsmouth, and now Roma have lodged their interest in Sidney Govou, who is considering leaving. Yeah right. He just wants a fatter contract.
* Lyon are interested in Real Zaragoza’s Diego Milito and Sevilla’s Luis Fabiano. I have my doubts on either of those two choosing Lyon, but who knows, right?
* Soufiane Alloudi of Al Ain is a Lyon target, though Marseille want him really badly as well. My theory is that Aulas is interested just to piss Pape Diouf off.
* Aulas has put a €20, price tag on Hatem Ben Arfa’s head, which is about €15m in real money. Marseille and PSG are the most interested, but there are foreign clubs as well.
* Sevilla are prepared to offer €14m for Kim Kallstrom. This is one deal I expect Aulas to take.

"And it was entirely logical to look at Lyon. I've made the right choice."
The Bosnian youngster was one of the revelations of last season, making 32 appearances for Metz and scoring four times.
And with that debut season now under his belt, he is ready to step up a level with the seven-time French champions.
"I'm not scared. Lyon have some great players. I know that I will progress alongside them.
"I am coming to a big club and I will do everything to stay there. I'm only 18-years-old. I need to gain experience and make progress in all areas, especially in terms of physique."

Selon L'Equipe, l'entraineur de l'OL, Alain Perrin, serait remplacé dans les prochains jours par Claude Puel, actuel entraineur du LOSC malgré le premier doublé de l'aire Aulas (coupe et championnat). France international striker Sidney Govou has invited Premier League outfit Portsmouth to make a summer move for his services.The Lyon frontman scored the winning goal in the French Cup final at the weekend, with Harry Redknapp in the stands to run the rule over the French international.
Govou has made it clear that he intends to leave Stade Gerland over the close season, with England seemingly his preferred destination.
It is thought that a bid of around £7million would be enough to lure the 28-year-old to the Premier League, a figure unlikely to hinder Redknapp's recruitment plans.
A number of other English clubs, as well as Primera Division outfit Atletico Madrid, are believed to be interested in Govou, but the players agent has admitted that the current FA Cup holders are present the most appealing option.
"Sidney wants to come to England and is interested in Portsmouth," Frederic Guerra told The News.
"He is at an age where he wants to move. He has made that decision.
"But at the moment I don't know if that is possible.
"I have heard that Harry Redknapp may be interested.
"But Harry has not contacted me and nor has anyone from Portsmouth so far."
Pompey have established a good relationship with Lyon after taking Milan Baros on loan in January and could be set to raid the French champions once again over the summer.
Baros has failed to score a single goal during his time at Fratton Park, while fellow flop David Nugent has also disappointed since moving to the South Coast.
Redknapp is well aware that he must find an able partner for Jermain Defoe in the coming weeks if the club are to build on their successful 2007/08 campaign.
Peter Crouch continues to be linked with a return to Pompey, while Paris St Germain hit-man Amara Diane is believed to be another drawing admiring glances.
Lyon and France goalkeeper Gregory Coupet has admitted that he could retire after Euro 2008 if he cannot find a new club.
The 35-year-old played his last game for Lyon in Saturday's Coupe de France final victory over Paris Saint-Germain and is now searching for a fresh challenge.
Coupet is believed to be a target of Tottenham and has admitted an interest in a move abroad, but the shot-stopper insists he has not been contacted by any prospective new employer.
And Coupet has suggested he could hang up his gloves after participating with France in Austria and Switzerland this summer.
"I can swear that, currently, I have had no contact with any club," Coupet told L'Equipe.
"I have signed nothing and I have nothing planned. It is just a personal decision so far, a family decision.
"I have the idea of a two-year adventure abroad. I do not rule out Spain or Germany.
"If I can't find a new club, frankly I am keen to end my career."

Govou has made it clear that he intends to leave Stade Gerland over the close season, with England seemingly his preferred destination.
It is thought that a bid of around £7million would be enough to lure the 28-year-old to the Premier League, a figure unlikely to hinder Redknapp's recruitment plans.
A number of other English clubs, as well as Primera Division outfit Atletico Madrid, are believed to be interested in Govou, but the players agent has admitted that the current FA Cup holders are present the most appealing option.
"Sidney wants to come to England and is interested in Portsmouth," Frederic Guerra told The News.
"He is at an age where he wants to move. He has made that decision.
"But at the moment I don't know if that is possible.
"I have heard that Harry Redknapp may be interested.
"But Harry has not contacted me and nor has anyone from Portsmouth so far."
Pompey have established a good relationship with Lyon after taking Milan Baros on loan in January and could be set to raid the French champions once again over the summer.
Baros has failed to score a single goal during his time at Fratton Park, while fellow flop David Nugent has also disappointed since moving to the South Coast.

Lyon and France goalkeeper Gregory Coupet has admitted that he could retire after Euro 2008 if he cannot find a new club.
The 35-year-old played his last game for Lyon in Saturday's Coupe de France final victory over Paris Saint-Germain and is now searching for a fresh challenge.
Coupet is believed to be a target of Tottenham and has admitted an interest in a move abroad, but the shot-stopper insists he has not been contacted by any prospective new employer.
And Coupet has suggested he could hang up his gloves after participating with France in Austria and Switzerland this summer.
"I can swear that, currently, I have had no contact with any club," Coupet told L'Equipe.
"I have signed nothing and I have nothing planned. It is just a personal decision so far, a family decision.
"I have the idea of a two-year adventure abroad. I do not rule out Spain or Germany.
"If I can't find a new club, frankly I am keen to end my career."
