The 34-year-old is reported to be attracting the interest of Juande Ramos - who hopes to bolster his goalkeeping options.

Radek Cerny has already left the club for Queens Park Rangers, while Ramos seems unconvinced by England's Paul Robinson.

Coupet could present himself as the ideal option for Spurs - although he does have two years left on his current deal at Stade Gerland.

But Lyon are reportedly open to the move and could soon open talks.

Lyon would need another keeper to compete with Remy Vercoutre and the most serious candidate appears to be Nice's Hugo Lloris.

Lloris - also wanted by Milan - has indicated he would love to move to Lyon and they could use striker Loic Remy as bait.

Remy - coincidentally another Spurs target - could be offered to Nice on loan for the whole of next season with a view to a permanent deal.

Mi a véleményetek Coupet távozásával kapcsolatban?

    Hajrá Lyon!

Spurs linked with raid for Remy

    Tue 20 May, 02:30 PM

Tottenham are thought to be considering a summer bid for highly-rated Lyon striker Loic Remy. The 21-year-old has come through the youth ranks at the Stade Gerland but has yet to make the expected impact.

He has played 12 times since making his debut two years ago - but he has never found the net for Lyon.

However, Remy has always been highly thought of in France and he has Under 21 and B caps for his country.

And the player's reputation was somewhat restored following a loan spell at relegated Lens.

He joined Sang-et-or in January and struck three times in just six games and although he could not help save them from relegation, he did show his scoring ability.

Lens did have an option to buy him for £6million - which they cannot now take up following their relegation, but that could open the door for Spurs.

Tottenham would not consider paying anything like £6million for Remy - but they could look to strike a deal with Lyon, who are seemingly willing to let him leave.

Lyon forward Sidney Govou. Being French and a bit tasty, our Sid has been linked with a move to Arsenal on several occasions, and after helping Les Gones to a seventh straight league title he expressed his desire to finish his career at the club - unless he leaves.

He said: "I know now that if I do not leave this season, I will finish at Lyon."

The O.L.'s goalkeeper Remy Vercoutre (28) who's actual contract ends in 2010, will soon renew it and shall remain at Lyon until 2012.

After winning the national league cup, Olympiakos would like to replace their actual trainer Jose Segura with O.L.'s Alain Perrin.

Különböző hírek keringenek a PSV Eindhoven csatára, Jefferson Farfán körül. A 24 éves játékost három angol (Portsmouth, Blackburn, Aston Villa) és három német (Hamburg, Schalke, Werder Bremen) együttes is hívja, azonban mégis a francia Olympique Lyon tűnik a legesélyesebbnek a kegyeiért folyó harcban.

Két jó hírrel is megörvendeztette szurkolóit a francia Olympique Marseille együttese.

    Mi a véleményetek?

He is tracked by al the major french clubs, but, as always happens about the young talents, O.L. is overtaking everybody, and they are already in touch with Metz midfielder Miralem Pjanic's agent.

France international winger Hatem Ben Arfa has been named as a substitute for most of Lyon's recent matches, and several leading clubs have been alerted by his situation.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, for example, is a known admirer of the left-winger and has reportedly been monitoring developments closely, while Marseille are also believed to be keeping a close on the 21-year-old's predicament.

However, Ben Arfa insists he is happy at the Stade Gerland although he will delay until the end of the season the decision about whether to extend his contract at Lyon or leave the club.

"The talks are advancing well and I feel happy at Lyon," he said. "And, for the moment, my future is not news. We will see about all that at the end of the season."

He does admit, though, that he is frustrated at being marginalised by Lyon coach Alain Perrin, especially following his outstanding performance as a substitute against Marseille recently.

Ben Arfa's dazzling display prompted Marseille president Pape Diouf to claim he "Would not hesitate a second" to sign Ben Arfa.

Diouf added: "He is extraordinary - even if it's for a single wonderful piece of skill per game, I'd take him right now."

Ben Arfa himself told L'Equipe: "I am disappointed at not playing more and I see that a lot of people are surprised to see me often on the bench.

"But I can only hope to get my place back in the team. It is all I can do insofar as the coach has never told me why I am a substitute.

"I still have hope and a desire to play."

As for Perrin, he says the reason for Ben Arfa's limited first-team opportunities is simply the form of Abdulkader Keita, Fred and Karim Benzema.

"Competition is harsh at Lyon," Perrin explained "Hatem hasn't had the same attacking impact as in the first half of the season.

"Abdulkader Keita has improved greatly since the winter break, Fred and Karim Benzema have scored a lot of goals and play well together."

According to Marca, FC Seville midfielder Christian Poulsen has refused an important offer received by O.L. . The danish player, whose contract with the andalusan club will expire in 2009, continues to be observed by Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus.

After Reading, O.L., PSG and Bordeaux, also Stuttgart seem interested in Nancy defender Sébastien Puygrenier.

According to french sources Lazio are interested in O.L. midfielder Kim Källström. The negotiation seems extremely difficult as the french club is not too convinced to yeld the player and Everton are also keen on the Sweden national.

O.L. wingback Fabio Grosso has declared about the rumours concerning a possible transfer to Juventus: "When such a club is interested in you, you must be proud, but I have a long contract with O.L. and I am fine in Lyon; if I think at the future I must admit that I wouldn't dislike to play in the spanish Liga"

O.L. will probably win their seventh title on a row, but it won't probably be enough for trainer Alain Perrin to keep his place; chairman Aulas doesn't like to fire a trainer during the season, but he has already expressed his disappointment for the tean's performances in the UEFA Champions League and knows that Perrin doesn't have good relations with the team's stars, expecially Benzema. His most probale substitute is actually former Juventus' Didier Deschamps.

O.L. have decided not to extend Patrick Mueller's contract, that will expire at the end of the season. The 31 year old defender, actually injured, has declared to french and swiss medias that in december the club had pronised him to extend his deal for one or two more seasons.

...Lazio "No, I don't know nothing. Are only speculations"

While regarding a possible transfer in MLS? "That's another speech"

In what sense? "In the sense that this is just rumors, which, however, are based on the will of player, who would move to USA or at least in England"

Kallstrom has been a regular for the French champions since securing a move from Rennes in May 2006 and is second in the appearance charts for them this campaign behind Karim Benzema.

The Sweden star has been linked with Everton in recent weeks and the 25-year-old revealed that he could be tempted by a move to Goodison Park.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted he is interested in signing Lyon's France international left winger Hatem Ben Arfa.

Ben Arfa is one of the most sought-after young players in Europe after impressing for Lyon in the last few seasons.

Manchester United were linked with a move for the 21-year-old and team-mate Karim Benzema last month, while Tottenham have held a long-term interest in Ben Arfa.

The young midfielder, who is of Tunisian descent, still has two years to run on his Stade Gerland contract and Lyon are hoping to tie him down to a new long-term deal.

Wenger is a big admirer of his fellow Frenchman and admits he would be at the head of the queue if Ben Arfa became available.

"If Ben Arfa is for sale, then we are very interested," Wenger said in The Sun.
