Na, ez a 100%-os hivatalos info. Valaki fordíja a lényeget plííz:
Hello TruckPol community,
Several members have asked me for clarification on the situation with the demo version that you can download from TryGames.com, or 3DGamers.com, or actually several other sites as of now (and more coming). I apologize that it has taken me so long to react, it seems that the timing of the release of the downloadable version during the weekend wasn't the smartest thing to do. In fact, it has caught even me by surprise, I thought it would still take a few more days to organize.
First and foremost. The "demo" is official, it is 100% identical to the retail game, the only difference is the time limit. The size is identical, slightly above 90 MB when installed. In fact, the downloadable version already has a few small fixes in it compared to the upcoming retail version. It states its version as 1.01 in the main menu, while the retail version is identifying itself as 1.0. So if you have unlocked the demo by paying $20 with your credit card, rest assured that you definitely have not been cheated. The online version is distributed with the official blessing of ValuSoft, the game's publisher, by a company called TryMedia through their TryGames.com portal as well as several affiliate web sites. If you have any problems registering the game, or with the game's time-limit protection system (it's called ActiveMark, and in principle it's a similar system to how WindowsXP have to be "activated" for instance), go to their website at www.trymedia.com to request their technical support. They are a respectable company, with many big publishers now releasing their games online through them.
Some of you are probably surprised by the comparatively small disk footprint of the game, but wait with your judgment about actual breadth of the content until after you have seen enough of it. We have used various compression methods quite aggressively, and the 18 Wheels of Steel international fan community was specifically on our mind when doing so. Unlike with the previous 18 WoS games, now you can buy the game on day 1 of the US release (or even a few days earlier!) no matter where on the planet you live! Size of the download definitely does make a difference for anyone without DSL or cable, so do not be mad at as that we managed to compress what is essentially 600 MB of data under 100 MB! Heavy compression of sound and graphics assets actually has a very positive side effect in decreasing game startup time and lowering hardware requirements; even thought the visuals were quite improved, the game does not require that much more powerful computer to run acceptably than AA did.
I have noticed a lot of positive as well as negative things written about the game on TruckPol over the last few days. Whenever I notice a bit of praise in your posts, it makes me very proud about our creation and the small team that worked so hard on the game. Whenever I notice complaints, it makes me think whether and how fast we can fix the problems. We are standing behind our product, no matter whether it's the retail version or the dowloadable version - if there are bugs to fix, they will be addressed in both versions.
From our point of view when the game was released for manufacture, it did not contain any known bugs. Numerous reports concerning unadjustable steering wheel sensitivity are a shock for me, both internal and external testing did not suggest that there should be any issues with it. In any case, we will look into these things as well as all other reports as soon as possible, and address bugs in timely manner.
Thanks for your patience, and I hope you will enjoy many many miles behind the wheel with 18 Wheels of Steel Pedal to the Metal!
Best
