    Talán a foundry-t is vissza adják,valamilyen formában.
    Endeavorhoz jóljönne. :D

XD

    Még egy cikk.
    Link.

It was a pleasure to meet Jack Emmert's cat, a handsome black-and-white chap called Oreo. As I spoke to the MMORPG veteran (that's Jack, not Oreo) from his home earlier this month, his fluffy friend hopped up on the desk and hogged the screen, seemingly oblivious to the fact I was trying to speak to Jack about his return to Cryptic Studios after more than ten years away. Not that Jack minded. Nor did I, for that matter. Oreo seems like a good dude.

"My wife and I have done Cat Rescue through the years, and anybody who can't be adopted, we adopt," Jack told me, scratching Oreo behind the ear. "This little guy would have been totally feral, but it took him years, and now look at him."

Jack Emmert Is Back At Cryptic
It's an exciting time to be an MMO fan
    City of Heroes
It's clear passion is what has driven Jack to remain active in the industry for 30-plus years now. Jack originally founded Cryptic back in 2000 and designed the hit MMORPGs City of Heroes and City of Villains. Under his stewardship, Cryptic would go on to create Marvel Universe Online and Star Trek Online. Jack left Cryptic in 2016, first to produce DC Universe Online, and then to partner with NetEase to create Jackalyptic Games (formerly Jackalope Games) in 2016.

So, the obvious first question to ask: what brings Jack back to the studio he first founded 26 years ago?

"My goal is to build Cryptic for the next 26 years, and it's difficult as one of its founders and as its former CEO and to let it go right at the end of the day," he explained. "It was never just about being an employee, because I wasn't, and so it's kind of like coming home again. But I know a lot more than I did, and I'm really thankful for the experiences that I do believe I needed to leave when I did, because I needed to learn the lessons that I had to learn."

It's kind of like coming home again. But I know a whole lot more than I did,

Ten years is a long time in any scenario, of course, but in gaming it feels like an eternity. In the last decade we've had multiple console generations, huge leaps in technology, and one Grand Theft Auto game. What has Jack learned in his time away, and is the studio he left the same studio he's returned to?

"I think that I was more of a force of nature when I was younger," Jack considered. "Probably not as willing to listen to other people, And I was more, I wouldn't say tyrannical, but maybe I was a little bit more force of personality, and what I learned is that, and I think that was born out of the fact that at Cryptic I was one of its founders, and I was its lead designer, and so I took a lot of ownership, probably more than I should have, over those games successes, and I allowed that to dictate the way that I viewed my own company.

"And in retrospect, now that I've gone and worked on other games where I've worked with people who have done amazing things with their products, and I'm like, 'Well, geez, you know, really, I'm just one part of a much bigger machine', and that it's to my detriment if I don't open up my ears and shut my mouth sometimes.

"It's to my detriment if I don't open up my ears and shut my mouth sometimes."

"Cryptic has changed a lot, in that there aren't a lot of people there left from when I was there. So there's a lot of new blood, a lot of maturation of processes. I think we were more 'shoot from the hip' 10 years ago, because I was, but they're doing things like tracking their tasks and scheduling, real grown-up stuff. So I think that was the part I was really happy to see. Still, there's the love for the games, and a lot of camaraderie within the studio, which is very edifying."

Jack's Got Big Plans For Cryptic
    MMORPG fans should take note
    STO-Official-KeyArt
Clearly Jack agreed to return to Cryptic because he had some big plans. Long-time fans of Cryptic's games will no doubt be relieved to hear a commitment to making sure the studio's existing games such as Neverwinter and Star Trek Online, continue to be worth players' time and money, and continue to reach new heights."I think in the first year at least, my focus right now is to really make sure that the games that we have are focused on the player, and that they're fun, that we're delivering quality content that is worth the time and the money that's being spent, Jack said. "I'll tell you right now, and this is where I'm going to brag. I was the person who played both Star Trek and Neverwinter more than anyone in our studio. And I have the server logs to prove it. I joined the QA team for Neverwinter before we shipped and played every ounce of content, every single raid, over and over, because I wanted to make sure I knew those games like the back of my hand. Because I feel if I'm that passionate about it, it can only help, right? So that's my number one goal right now."

"I was the person who played both Star Trek and Neverwinter more than anyone in our studio."

He continued: "The number one thing that a game has to be is genuine, so its fans know that. Look, Star Trek is going to have bugs, but there is not a single person who plays Star Trek Online that doesn't think that we love Star Trek. Same thing with Neverwinter. There is no question that whoever made this game was a massive DND there, and that this isn't just the work of some devs on an IP. This is the work of people who love them. My entire career has been about trying to bring alive for other people the passions that I have."

The Warhammer MMO That Never Was
    This one hurts
    Warhammer 40,000_ Space Marine - Master Crafted Edition_image 6
While working with Netease, Jack and his studio were working on a Warhammer 40K MMO. Funding for the project was pulled in 2025, though many of the team that worked on it maintain they'd created something really special, and are proud of what they accomplished. Where does Jack stand on the cancellation now that he's had some time to process it?

"The big thing that I want to say is that I enjoyed my time at Netease," Jack said. "I've learned an awful lot from the people in China. I hired a fantastic team whom I give the highest recommendations for. I grew as a person, a CEO and a father and a husband, and I'll never forget it. I'll also never forget Games Workshop, who are lovely, but at the same time, it ran its course and I had to come to terms with that."

"I have lots of other passions that I have in my life. My goal is to pick another one and bring it to life."

Jack admitted that he was in a "pretty dark place" immediately after the MMO's cancellation, but that the invitation to return to Cryptic served as something of a lifeline.

"What am I going to do? Am I going to go apply for a job? I've never applied for jobs in my life," he explained. "What am I going to do? I'm old. Who's going to hire me? I don't know. And this came up, and, man, I don't know if people are spiritual or whatever, but wow, that's all I can say. I mean, it's hard to describe the emotion being asked to come back to Cryptic. In that moment, when it was darkest, it was like a beam of light."

His experience on Warhammer 40K aside, Jack absolutely isn't ruling out continuing to work with established IPs. Whether that means a Warhammer MMO could finally happen under Cryptic is something Jack won't (or can't) discuss at this stage, but it's obvious from the models on his shelf behind him that his love of this particular IP remains unabated.

"I have lots of other passions that I have in my life," he said. "My goal is to pick another one and bring it to life. I'm 57 so I got maybe one or two more shots!"

Én részben a doffokra utazom,részben a sok dilis küldikre.
Múltkor recruit karival poénból kb 20-30 percnyi mászkálással csináltam több mint 9k dilit.

    #50059
Én is most ugrottam neki egy friss kari felturbózásának.

    Tier VI - account-wide trait
Extensively Modified Warp Core (Improves Flight Speed and Turn Speed during Full Impulse and Quantum Slipstream) - Legendary Intrepid Miracle Worker Multi-Mission Science Vessel / 10th Anniversary Legendary Starship Bundle

    Starship Trait:
    Tier V trait
Synthetic Good Fortune (Passive: +25 Starship Sector Speed - Improves Travel Speed in Sector Space) - Equinox Pilot Scout Ship [T6]

Így tudok most slipstream 75+ értéket elérni szektorban.

M.A.C.O. Impulse Engine kraftolás (Task Force Omega repu Tier III szint + repu mark + dili + EC), majd ultimate tech upgrade, ami [SecSpd-2] (sector speed) módosítót ad.

    Warp core jövőbeni terv:
Gamma Synergistic Overcharged Warp Core kraftolás (Gamma Task Force repu Tier I szint + repu mark + dili + EC).
    +60% Slipstream Speed
    +100% Slipstream Turn Rate
    50% Reduced Cooldown on Transwarp
    Slipstream drive recharges 100% faster

    Konzolok:
Ezek engineering konzolok, ergo előbb-utóbb elfogy a hely. Ilyenkor lehet a hajóra dobni upgrade tokent (T6-X, T6-2X) hogy legyen pluszban universal konzol slot.

Látok módosító nélküli universal konzolokat +turn rate értékkel a megvett hajókon, plusz exchange-en is, szóval a tac+sci konzol helyekre ilyen universal konzolokat kell pakolni vagy advanced tac+sci konzolt [Turn] módosítóval.
Slipstream nélküli gyors utazáshoz +flight speed universal konzolokat kell összeszedni (pl. Legendary Excelsior Miracle Worker Heavy Cruiser - Console - Universal - Tactical Maneuvering Matrix, +15% Flight Speed/+15% Flight Turn Rate).

A csomag kiadja a Experimental Systems Set konzolszettet.
Az Experimental Systems Set az alábbi miatt érdekes:
Set 2: Chroniton Integrated Quantum Slipstream
    - Set base Quantum Slipstream Drive Speed to Transwarp 25
    - 4x Quantum Slipstream Turn Rate

Konzol harmadik terv “Delta Flight” sztori végigjátszása az Iconian War arc-ban. Ennek végén Console - Engineering - Polaric Modulator konzol behúzása.
Console - Engineering - Polaric Modulator
    +11.3% Flight Speed
    +18.8% Flight Turn Rate
    +100% Slipstream Turn Rate

    Skill-tree
Science skill: Sector Space Travel Speed (Increases maximum Sector Space Travel Speed by 25%).

A most futó event TFO-ja, Arena of Sompek kiváló repu mark gyűjtéshez, mivel egy meccs nem hosszab 3-4 (max.
Tier I New Romulus repu = Transwarp - Azure Sector). Ha megléped Tier V-öt, akkor kapsz annyi repu markot (750?) ajándékba, ami elvisz Tier VI-ra vagy elpattintod kraftolásra (lásd fent engine és warp core).

Kings & Queens - The Operator
Somewhere far away, a former Starfleet officer joins a rising resistance to protest against controversial experiments that threaten to tear her world apart.
By Counselor Sunna January 29, 2026, 09:30 AM

    . . .
    Stardate 85601.44, elsewhere…

Outside, the streets were flooded with protestors who had set their sights on reaching the city’s center. Amidst the chaos of blocked intersections and toppled State banners, a former Starfleet lieutenant laid her eyes on an unattended civilian floater. Identifying a golden opportunity, she rushed past the crowd to equip the device, and leapt into the sky.

As she threaded through a labyrinth of urban walkways and frost-laden gardens, she looked out at a glacial landscape she no longer recognized. Much more than its physical architecture had changed over the years – deep unrest plagued the capital as new experimental plans to thwart the Borg had recently been made available to the public. Despite being rejected on numerous occasions by the presiding government, it was clear that the galaxy was swiftly taking a turn for the worse. Picking a side would only be a matter of time now. This thought stayed with the former lieutenant until she reached her destination, drifting to a halt and landing on her feet again.

    “Operator, I wasn’t sure you’d make it.”

A firm voice greeted her from a nearby alleyway – one she recognized. Emerging from the shadows was a hooded figure. The man, dressed in an asymmetrically layered cloak and muted colors, made his way towards her.

“I haven’t earned that title yet, Operator Nimry,” she replied, ill at ease as she glanced down at her corporate uniform. “I didn’t even have time to change…”

At first, the man arched an eyebrow in amusement, as if to signal that a person’s appearance had no bearing on their values. But as he took note of her apparent shame, he shifted his body language and placed a hand on her shoulder.

“Hey, look at me.” Nimry softened his tone. “The minute you make your decision, you earn the title. Got it? Here, take this… Operator.”

Reaching over his shoulder, he pulled another cloak out of his bag and tossed it over for her to catch. She gave him an appreciative nod, as the two began to walk together.

“I’m glad you’re with us,” he shared.

    “Me too,” she replied.

“Though, you know…” Nimry teased, gearing up for a half-joke. “A couple of conn officer lessons before your resignation back in the day wouldn’t have hurt. Can’t join a resistance without knowing how to pilot.”

“I know how to pilot, Nimry…” she huffed, punching him gently on the arm.

“Is that so?” Operator Nimry laughed without reservation.

“Well, a floater. And I’m getting my hoverspeeder license next month.”

    “Right,” he chuckled.

“Besides – there is no resistance, we’re just voicing our opinions. You heard the government, they rejected that guy’s plans. He’s delusional,” she assured her friend.

Operator Nimry rubbed his neck, a clear sign of his discomfort.

“I don’t know, guys like that… They’re just waiting for the Commission to give them a chance,” he warned, before steering the conversation back to the point he’d raised.

“Anyway, I was being serious. Let’s see if we can get you some nav classes. The movement’s got connections.”

The once-lieutenant-now-operator came to a halt, reacting instinctively to Nimry’s reply.

“Speaking of connections…” she began, straightening her posture. “I spoke with my family. My mother has promised to suspend any and all collaboration with that SC scientist. She gave me her word.”

Nimry pivoted to look his comrade in the eyes, as newfound admiration washed over his face.
“All right, look at you boss,” he grinned, then came to a halt. “Well, we’re here. You ready?”

A monolithic building made of black alloy and tinted glass towered over the two Operators. At its base, kettled in the middle of a small square, stood hundreds of rioters who had gathered to protest in front of the Commission’s headquarters.

“There he is, that’s him,” Nimry whispered, as a slender man with slicked-back hair scurried out of the building’s back door.
It didn’t take long for the disgruntled crowd to close in on the SC’s most controversial scientist, their outrage rising like a tetryon storm.

“Object, reject, object, reject!” chanted the masses.

“Is this the first assembly?” the Operator asked Nimry.

“The first of many,” he smiled. “We’re making history here, and there’s no time to waste.”

Marching towards the doors of the hulking establishment in front of them, the two Operators lifted their fists into the air and joined the throng.

“Misuse, abuse – we object, we refuse!”

    . . .
    The following year…

Weathered by time and indescribable hardship, the now-seasoned Operator swung off her hoverspeeder as she reached the gates of her lavish family home. Parking her vehicle by the entrance, she opened the doors to the building and stepped across the threshold quietly.

Planning for nothing more than a quick stopover, she was instead surprised to find her mother speaking in hushed tones with an employee. Having so far gone unnoticed, the Operator ducked behind a marble pillar to spy on the co-conspirators as they leaned over a large shipping container, eager to discuss its contents.

“This one has been returned,” whispered the worker.

“How odd. Why?” replied the Operator’s mother.

“It was considered defective. That SC representative is asking for another batch.”

The mere mention of a collaboration with the SC was enough to wrest the Operator out of her hiding place.

“What’s going on?” she asked, stepping out from behind the pillar.

“You…” her startled mother began. “Aren’t you supposed to be at one of your… gatherings?”

“I forgot my hoverspeeder license…” the Operator replied indignantly. “Is that… an SC shipment?”

“Listen, daughter…” Her mother was too exasperated to entertain the idea of an empathetic response.
“We’ve had to make some changes around here. With the enemy’s advance on our territories, we need to start considering this scientist’s proposal as a viable way forward.”

The tone was unemotional, and calculated.

“You gave me your word. Have you…” The Operator composed herself before continuing, her lividity building by the second. “Have you been shipping to that asshole from the SC this entire time?”

“No, of course not!” her mother snapped back, offended at the accusation. “But this capable individual has now had ample time to develop his plans. And… although he has yet to convince the SC, he has reportedly presented some compelling arguments to the board. I hear two of their leaders have granted him an audience. We-”

“But this goes against everything we stand for!” yelled the Operator, furious at the blatant display of nonchalance her concerns were being met with. “The Borg aren’t even anywhere near our star system yet!”

The Operator’s mother let out a deep sigh, and sank into a nearby chair.

“Look, I know you’re still young at heart and it isn’t nice to make concessions around your… principles, but I’m trying to keep the family safe,” she continued, undeterred by the outburst. “We’ve been offered a very lucrative deal for our resources, and this scientist has assured us he is prepared to take on all responsibilities tied to his inventions – legal, political, and otherwise.”

Raising her arms in disbelief, the Operator began to pace back and forth in an effort to control the contempt she held for her mother’s apathy.

“Of course he would say that!” she laughed derisorily. “He’s proposing to experiment on people! His whole plan is to control all of us – or at least half of us. His assurance means nothing! Can’t you see how morally wrong all of this is?”

    Her mother huffed, judgement incarnate.

“You sound like a Starfleet officer. Perhaps you should have stayed.”

Unable to stifle the wave of anger that was overtaking her, the Operator clenched her fists. This was it, she thought. The galvanizing, liberatory feeling that Nimry always spoke so highly of. This was righteous indignation – she could feel it in her bones.

“And you sound like a delusional Commissioner. Perhaps you should join the SC.”

The two women looked at each other sternly, shoulders squared, neither willing to be the first to break. Observing the exchange, the family employee retreated to a corner of the room, desperate to be dismissed.

“I thought you’d be easier to talk to than your brother…” the Operator’s mother admitted.

    “Which one?”

“You know which one. He’s in his room, packing.”

Furious, the Operator ceded her victory in the stand-off and tore down a nearby hallway. Veering to the left, she slipped through an open door and slammed it shut. Inside the room, her brother was packing in a frantic rush.

“She’s lost her mind, they all have,” he murmured nervously.

“I know… What are you planning?”

“I’m joining you and Nimry, and the others.”

The Operator’s heart sank. She had always spent most of her free time ensuring that her younger sibling was kept out of trouble.

“Are you sure?” she said quietly, taking a seat on his bed. “You don’t know what you’re signing up for.”

Her brother’s anxiety was unmistakable, but so was his resolve.

“I’m scared but… I don’t want to be complicit in any of this. Not now, not in the future.”

A heavy, momentous silence settled between them, as they each searched for hidden meaning in the other’s faces. Finally, the Operator exhaled, and stood up. She knew she would never be able to protect her brother against all the evil in this world – not alone.

    “All right. Grab your hoverspeeder.”

    . . .
    Hours later…

The Operator and her brother stepped into an underground mess hall that housed more than fifty individuals clad in resistance fighter gear – all of them waiting, arms crossed and breath bated. Morale seemed noticeably low for reasons that neither of the two siblings were able to discern at present
    .
Out of the corner of her eye, the Operator caught a glimpse of a familiar face.

“Lyron,” she called out, as she strode towards an unkempt Operator Nimry. “Is everything okay in here? I need to talk to you. It’s about the SC shipments…”

Operator Nimry raised his hand as if to request her silence, redirecting her attention to a cracked display screen stationed in the middle of the room. The monitor projected an incoming message from Starfleet Headquarters, alongside graphic footage of intergalactic warfare. In the foreground, an FNN correspondent presented the news with a tremor in their voice.

“Almost three million Federation citizens… have been killed. Many more… have been assimilated,” they stuttered, holding back tears. “Admiral Quinn of Starfleet reports from Earth Spacedock… urging faction leaders to rally their efforts and stay united. The late… The late Masc Taggart…”

The reporter’s voice faded into a quiet hum as the Operator froze in shock. Her eyes were locked on a plethora of flashing images – shattered star systems, enemy invasions, fallen worlds. Drawing a slow breath, she refocused on the broadcast.

“… the last message the Alliance received from Administrator Post before communications systems with the colony broke down, irreparably,” the journalist finished shakily.

Nimry and the Operator looked at each other apprehensively, bracing themselves for what was to come.

    . . .
    2 years later…

The sun shone over an otherwise bleak and crumbling cityscape. A place that was once filled with green parks and stunning waterfalls had been replaced by a technocratic hellhole. In just two years, a bill had been passed by the government that allowed the Commission to experiment on part of the population. Though the resistance had gained in legitimacy as a result, the Operator and her peers had also watched their fortunes collapse entirely.

Yet in all this imposed terror, some hope could still be found. A hidden meadow tucked inside a cliffside cavern was known to some of the anti-SC fighters as a peaceful place to gather. Here, the Operator and Lyron Nimry often met to discuss tactics, and future settlement plans.

Today, however, Nimry was uncharacteristically late. Hours passed with no sign of the Operator’s comrade, not even an encrypted message. As she watched the sun set, she finally decided to collect her belongings and depart.

The Operator had barely taken a few steps forward, when a massive shockwave suddenly ripped through the cave, hurling her body against the nearest wall. Dust rained from the ceiling, impairing her vision as she picked herself back up and staggered towards the exit.

As she finally reached the cave’s mouth, the Operator lifted her eyes towards the night sky only to be met with a most horrific sight – a titanic cybernetic mass had eclipsed every cloud on the horizon, and thousands like it trailed not far behind. The city lay awash in the sickly green glow the SC had long warned would signal the end of times.

“It can’t be… Not yet,” she stammered.

Before she could react any further, a monstrous claw shot out from a corner of the cave and clamped on to her hood, dragging her to the ground. As the unidentifiable beast prepared to lunge at her, the Operator raised her weapon instinctively and fired a point-blank shot into its skull.
Seconds later, a dishevelled Operator Nimry burst through the cave mouth, dual phasers at the ready.

“We have to get out of here, now!” he yelled, running towards his comrade.

“No kidding!” she shouted back, lifting herself off the ground. “What the hell is that?”

“That…” he panted, “… is the result of everything we’ve been fighting against.”

The Operator shook her head in disbelief, as she stared at the felled creature. Its disturbing, headless silhouette and bony protrusions sent a shiver down her spine – not to mention the corrupted lifeform it carried within its skeletal body.

“C’mon!” Nimry urged, “Your brother is waiting for us at the docking port!”

Warning alarms blared in the distance, underscored by the collective screams of a civilization under attack.

“Lyron, I thought we had more time…” she whispered.

“Afraid not,” Nimry replied stoically, shifting his body to flank with hers. “They’re here.”

When I left Cryptic Studios in 2016, I thought it was to seek new challenges and adventures – to prove that I could do more than just Cryptic. I had been there for sixteen years; I was one of its founders. I was the Lead Designer on City of Heroes/Villains, the Chief Creative Officer for Champions Online, the COO for Star Trek Online and ultimately the CEO when Neverwinter launched. Cryptic Studios was my very first job in the video game industry – and to be frank, when I first started, I really had zero clue of things outside my little corner. But most of all, after sixteen years at Cryptic, I’d become stale. I’d pretty much given what I could at that point, and I needed to go to school elsewhere to figure things out.

I joined Daybreak Games to oversee DC Universe Online, and a little later Lord of the Rings Online and Dungeons & Dragons Online, though to be fair to everyone, I think I learned more from them than vice versa! I even had a chance to work alongside the venerable devs on Everquest I and II – and boy, did they have stories! But not just that, everyone at Daybreak had brand new perspectives about how to make and operate games. I saw new game mechanics and types of content that I’d never seen before. I was humbled by how much was out there.

Cryptic Studios has been through just as many changes as I have. But the teams have held strong through the past few years and continued to put out great products. It’s amazing to see the games I helped develop, Champions Online, Star Trek Online and Neverwinter still thriving several years later. The teams are only one part of the equation: what’s made those games last is you – the player. Our communities always made the Cryptic games special.

Why am I excited to return to Cryptic? First, the team is still terrific. Many faces have changed, but the commitment to the players has remained steadfast. Second, I love these games. There were very few Cryptic employees who played any of our games more than me. Third, Arc Games has promised full support to make Champions Online, Star Trek Online and Neverwinter the best they can be. I believe in the team, the games and their players. Of course, there might be more to come…but that’s a story for another day!

I cannot promise results, but I can promise effort. I’m going to do everything I can to live up to the team’s and your expectations. I want to make sure that together we make our games flourish. If you’re a current player, THANK YOU! And if you’ve once played but are reading and simply curious, COME BACK! I’ll be actively getting feedback from all our various channels and even more importantly, I’ll be holding a LIVE Q&A session regularly. Anyone can get in and ask questions – the harder, the better (and yes, I regret nerfing Invuln Tanks – inside joke there). I’m planning on doing it quarterly, but that might change depending on demand.

Thank you for reading and I’m excited to be back at Cryptic! Looking forward to what this year will bring and beyond.
