A half-dog half-seal creature, the Youki is looking for its native land, which just happens to be near where Kate, Hans, and Oscar are going (how's that for a coincidence!) Captured by Ivan, and ready to be shipped to some foreign land in exchange for a big wad of cash, the Youki will need to be rescued by Kate. He will pay her back, though, taking a significant part in the remainder of her journey.
The Youki is very friendly and enthusiastic, but also goes wildly out of control sometimes. It also lacks discipline and has a bit of an attitude problem that could result in some very complex situations for Kate.
