Sziasztok!
Thanks for the questions.
To summarize, I had intra-lasik about 4 years ago. Although the result was 20/20 vision, I was left with severe dry eye. While it may sound like an "inconvenience" , it is severely debilitating. Take a hair dryer to your eyes for several minutes until all the moisture is gone, and you will have a good idea what if feels like. Dry eye truly derailed my career. I had to leave grad school twice because I was unable to study/read/use a computer. Needless to say, it was extremely tough on my mental state!
Eventually I found a cornea specialist who actively engaged the issue. The main key to regaining reasonable function is to used eye drops made from my blood. Essentially they just remove the red blood cells leaving a fluid that is non-inflammatory and supplies my eyes with much needed nutrients (the cornea doesn't have a blood source, instead it gets nutrients from tears, which I now lack). I still use this special drop throughout the day, and I am on 2 other prescriptions as well. Most likely, I will be on these prescriptions the rest of my life. Bottom line: It has allowed me to return to grad school, but I still struggle with dry eyes daily. Run a google search on dry eye and lasik to learn more. Look for forums where people discuss there experience with lasik and dry eye.
Nem akarok vészmadár lenni, de ajánlom [b]Aleana-nak[b] a gyakori szemszárazság miatt!
