Hi Rapid81,
First of all thank you for your interest in our game. We do normally encourage all our fans to modifiy the game in order to improve it. However in this case I have to inform you that translating the game and distributing such a modified version of Secret Files: Tunguska is illegal. I'm not sure how many work you've put into your translation but here are the reasons why we won't allow this:
1.) Legal reasons: The distribution rights of the game have or may have already been sold to a publisher who is in Hungary or a company who will publish the game in Hungary. Those people do pay a lot of money to get the rights to do so. And they also expect to sell Secret Files: Tunguska in order to get their money back. So an hungarian version which would emerge from your plans would definately hurt the publisher who has bought the rights to publish the game in Hungary. This is even worse in Hungary because the problem with pirated games is even bigger over there. So in combination with an illegal version, your translation could harm and even put a publisher out of business (in the worst case).
2.) Technological reasons: If it would be possible to modify the whole game, what should other companies stop from stealing the game, refurbish it and put it on the market as another product? Please keep in mind that this game was made by Animation Arts and Fusion Sphere and they protect their technology in order to survive in a very brutal market. Together with their gamedesign, the technology is the biggest asset of a company, and nobody with the right mind would risk that.
3.) Quality reasons: Secret Files: Tunguska has already made itself a name for a flawless gaming expirience among Adventure geeks. It is vital to keep up the high level and even improve upon that. However, in your case, nobody will be able to control on how accurate your translations are or how complete the work will be. Don't get me wrong, I really believe that your ambitions do come from the best intentions possible but it won't happen that a company would trust their "baby" into the hands of a fan in order for other people to play the game in their language. That is what the local publishers are for.
As for your sentence "More gamer will buy it, when they could play it in their own languages!": I'm absolutely supporting that idea and I also would like to give all people over the world access to this wonderful game. And this is why it is sold to all those local publishers worldwide. We sell them the rights and expect a very good localization from them, in order to maintain the very good reputation Secret Files: Tunguska has among the players. I'm sorry this must be a big blow to you depending on how much time you've already invested in your project but please ask sooner the next time before you engange on such a project.
És ezt válaszoltam. A fene egye meg ezeket:
Hi!
I need to answer here, because you closed the thread.
Yes, Hungary in a really bad position in legal program's market, but we have a really big problem with the official publishers too.
They publish the games 1-2% in hungarian language, and without the souful fans, we won't play the games in our language, except from the 1-2%.
Almost every published games were translated by fans, not else, even not the publishers.
We fight for it, but without supports from the game publishers, we fight with the wind.

We have translations almost all of the computer games, because this "baby" hands made it to the gamers. And this translations have a really good quality. We were translated many of the games, and the gamers like it, and don't critizice it, because they good, and enjoyable, more enjoyable like english or other languages.
But thanks for the exhausting information.
And because the local publisher did't published it in hungarian (They were published it in English, not else), I will finish the translation to the fans than they can play it with more understanding and fun.
Arrest me if you want.
Bye
Rapid
Bocsi, kicsit hosszú lett.
