Tex Murphy: Overseer, released in 1998, is the remake of Mean Streets. Aside from the story, the former is a complete remake featuring a new game engine and expanded gameplay. Contrary to popular opinion, Access Software's Countdown does not actually belong to the Tex Murphy series since it does not feature the character Tex Murphy, despite being released prior to Mean Streets.
