"KyoAni President Plans to Demolish Studio, Build Public Park"
"Kyoto Animation President Hideaki Hatta has said that he plans to demolish the studio that was burnt down in the arson attack several days ago, building a public park in its place alongside a monument.
Hideaki Hatta recently told Japanese media that he wishes to spare neighbors and his surviving staff from the “gruesome sight” of Kyoto Animation’s 1st Studio building, replacing it with a public park. Given the damage incurred by the blaze, demolishing it would have likely been their only option.
Hatta has also expressed a desire to include a monument in the park to remember the victims of the attack, and intends to hold a memorial ceremony for them.
The company president concluded by mentioning that the “warm messages” received from around the world have served as KyoAni’s “emotional support”.
Those who wish to provide some level of financial support for the company can donate to crowdfunding campaigns, or use the more direct route of buying digital goods from the company’s web store, which can be navigated with minimal knowledge of Japanese."
