What's the Black Tower Key?
This was a common question back in the D2 days, but we don't hear it much anymore. The Black Tower key can be seen in a screenshot here. It's a removed quest item that has no function in the game and can't be accessed on the realms, but can be hacked out and accessed in Open Battle.net. It was originally part of the Act Three quest, and you would have had to find it and then use it to unlock the entrance to the Durance of Hate. At some point Blizzard replaced that with the "Destroy the Compelling Orb" quest, but the key was left in the game code, unused. It was a popular thing to take screenshots of and claim it had some use in a secret quest or level, but it never did anything.
