"2. Voice in game
There is actually is an option to mute everyone around you:
Go to your crew roster (Start button) or (Escape) from the keyboard.
Enter your character sheet and select "Disable voices"
6. Proxy issue
Go to "Uplay Settings", "Network" and "Allow Uplay to use a proxy connection to access the internet".
