Been Playing 10 Hours/Impressions so Far

So I got the game early and just thought I'd post some early impressions. I am a veteran Souls player and absolutely LOVE the series. Dark Souls is currently my favorite game, and I've sank countless hours into DeS, DS, and DSII.

I've played over 10 hours of Bloodborne so far.

For anyone worried as to whether or not FROM Software has dumbed down the difficulty of the game, fear not; Bloodborne is incredibly difficult. And I'm loving every minute of it.

The intricate world design that was absent in DSII is on full, glorious display here. FROM have really outdone themselves with the world-building aspect of the game. It's simply incredible and detailed and very intricate. I still can't really map the first area of the game out in my head at all. It's a labyrinth of brilliant game design that encourages exploration.

I've died countless times already but am really getting the hang of the new aggressive combat scheme. The combat is sublime and the best FROM has ever created.

Enemy design is top-notch. Boss battles thus far have been exhilarating.

Everything just...works. I don't know how else to say it. Everything feels so meshed together perfectly.

The only negatives I've noticed are some occasional audio hiccups and some rather long loading times whenever you travel back and forth from the hub world. Loading times after death really aren't that bad.

The graphics are gorgeous, but the game could have used a bit more anti-aliasing. Still, the final game looks much better than that footage shown on the IGN 18-minute clip.

All in all, I'm incredibly satisfied with Bloodborne so far.

Whoever does not have it yet, you're in for a real treat when you get your hands on it.

I'm calling it now: GOTY. If the game can keep up this level of brilliance throughout its length, Bloodborne will no doubt amount to the best game FROM has ever created.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. I'll be on here periodically while playing all day.

    Cheers, hunters.
