Also, are the quests generic 'kill ten of this' quests?
No, but you will occasionally come across some that are like that, just like in any other Elder Scrolls games. One that I remember was where I had to collect 6 pieces of shalk chitin.
The quests are what you'd expect from an Elder Scrolls game (both in terms of objectives and the way that they are presented). I'd even say that the quests (from the ones I've done so far) are better than what you'd find in Elder Scrolls games because they have significant "choices and consequences" that affect the overarching story and characters.
