Did you really expect their defeat to be easy? That there wouldn't be massive consequences? You spend the whole game building hope that you might actually be able to pull it off. That you'll be able to beat the Reapers without any more losses. That there will be a happy ending.

But you're ending a galactic extinction cycle. We were naive to think there would be a happy ending to that. The happy ending is that the cycle is over. The Reapers are no more. Life is safe. That's the absolute best we had any right to expect.

Yes, it's disappointing. Yes, it's a downer. Losing all those people on the Citadel was devastating. Tali not being able to return to Rannoch is heart-wrenching. All those people stranded across the galaxy is tragic. But life will survive. That's all that matters.
