"Investment is a PC exclusive feature that offers players the ability to invest in shops they already own and based on the market (the game tracks what other players online invest in, and, just like in real life, the more people invest in something, the higher its value will be, while on the map screen, if you press SPACE you will be able to see the economy map, where the hot spots are, where you should invest) they can win a lot more money then they would otherwise from that shop.
Besides money, Investment also offers items as rewards when you hit certain milestones, like investing 3000 F in a certain shop will grant you 1 Silk. Global investment in a certain shop means exactly what it says, the total amount you have invested in X shops (be it blacksmith, tailor, Doctor, etc.) of the same type and is usually rather hard to reach (1 million F) but also offers for reward items that you would normally find very hard (like a 1 x Indian Diamond).
The only drawback of using this features is YOU HAVE TO BE ONLINE at all times, the second the Ubisoft server drops or your internet connection start to act up, you will lose the ability to invest as well as the ability to track the market or see where you last invested."
