People with a T-50-2 will lose their T-50-2 and have to research the new tank.
The closest comparison here would be the removal of the T23 and the M26 moving from tier 9 to 8. In that case, players with the T23 researched and bought got the new tank in their garage with the research tree similarly completed. It was one of the few "break even" switches that have happened in the game. Every switch (other than a few) has been in favor of the player, saving them experience and money (T34 and T30 change, French lights change....).
