    I was reading the "Why does Black Ops:PC take ages to install from the disk?" thread and someone mentioned about uninstalling steam and reinstalling to get black ops to install from disk in steam.

    My way is to exit steam if its running
    Go to the steam directory on your hdd and delete ClientRegistry.blob
    Run setup from the black ops dvd
    Click re-install and it will go through the process again
    Steam will update and ask for your password
    Mine then started installing black ops from the disk
