Valve has revealed an all new game mode for Left 4 Dead 2. Dubbed "Scavenge" the new mode pits a team of Survivors against a team of Special Infected. As expected, there is a catch.
The new mode is coming off as a mix of Survival mode and Versus. The team of Survivors is tasked with finding and retrieving gas canisters that have been scattered around the level. These canisters are then used to fill up generators. While they're attempting to do this, both the normal Infected and the human controlled Special Infected will attempt to thwart their plans.
The maps start off with a 120 second time limit, each canister used adds another 20 seconds to the remaining time. The goal for the Survivors is to use as many of the 16 total gas canisters before the time runs out.
