1. Install Quake 2 demo version. [37.3 MB]

2. Install Quake 2 3.20 update. This patch includes ctf files. [18.4 MB]

3. Get pak0.pak and save it to quake2/baseq2/. [175.5 MB]
Download *not available and the game works without this too*
4. Get R1Q2 files and save them to your quake2 directory (quake2/).

5. Run R1Q2Updater.exe, it will update your R1Q2 files.
6. Get location files and save them to quake2/baseq2/locs/.

7. Download the most common maps and unrar them to quake2/baseq2/

8. Run r1q2.exe to start Quake 2.
