    Warriors,

    An interesting event has just occurred, and needs to be rectified. It holds several lessons in Human nature for us.

    We were testing an upcoming special event in which we would be gifting 1 free set of Experience Bonus Cards (5) to all who dwell in The Land, when an accident occurred.

    The test went live and the normal restrictions for 1 Item per player were bugged.

    This event lasted approximately 35 minutes. During this time, many players (108 to be exact) became aware of the bug and exploited it by gifting XP Cards to both themselves and other accounts. Now, this is a clear violation of our rules, and is a permanent ban offence. I have no doubt the players who exploited the bug were 100% aware that what they were doing was a wrongful act; though I also have little doubt that some of you will argue here that somehow Acclaim's mistake entitled you to 500 free XP Cards. I assure you, it does not. And it certainly would not be fair to all the rest of the players if we allowed you to keep them.

    We understand that it is Human Nature to take what you can for free, and we do not wish to permanently ban any players if it can be avoided. So as to guilt, let's categorize this as a wrongful impulse, and we shall give those who followed through on that impulse a chance to redeem themselves.

    We discussed the issue at Acclaim and reviewed many options, including a rollback (but we felt that would harm too many innocent players), and an instant ban on all offenders... but then we chose what we feel is the fair middle ground...

    So, we know who you are. We know where the Cards went. And we are prepared to ban both the account which purchased the XP Cards, and the account which received them.

    If you do not wish to be banned, you should acknowledge a change of heart and simply return the cards, or pay for them.

    Here's how:

    1. Move your XP cards from your purchase inventory, and place all the XP cards stacked in the first two or three slots of your Main Character.

    2. The GMs will be checking the list and removing the exact number of XP Cards from your character on Friday, March 5th at 6:30 PM PST.

    3. To those who surrender all of the Cards in this orderly fashion, full Amnesty will be granted. We will treat this as a simple mistake.

    4. For those who do not surrender all their cards in this fashion, your accounts will unfortunately be banned.

    This is a big Land and many things can and will go haywire from time to time. It is how we deal with the aftereffects that matters most.
