The demo saga continues...
by: Dan Bream on Friday 8th September 2006 (Viewed 1219 times)The much anticipated demo for FIFA 07 has still yet to be released, what could be the problem?
With the PS2 demo version "out", surely the PC version should be ready? Don't get me wrong, I'm happy enough playing my PS2 version which I obtained earlier this week, but like the next person, I want to see it on the PC!
It maybe a different platform altogether, but I can't see the delay having any reasons other than "politics", rather than technical issues.
Today the official FIFA 07 site released information about a "PS2 demo promotion" with the Sun tabloid newspaper (also used in the career mode - see screenshot to the right). So could this be the "big cats" demanding a hold on the PC demo so they can shift a few more copies of their paper?
I mean, you wouldn't bother going out tomorrow morning to the newsagents and then to your local GAME store if you were happily playing the PC demo, in the comfort of your own home, would you? Didn't think so!
Agreed, no "official" date has been given for the release of the much anticipated demo, so how can there be a delay I hear you ask? Well, it seems a little odd that many people within the community had all suggested Wednesday 6th September. Chinese whispers perhaps?
Soccer Access have today suggested that the demo won't be released today or on a Saturday nor a Sunday, no-one works on a weekend any way do they, eh?
"EA Staff informed at their forums that : We do not currently believe the PC demo will be released today (September 8th), this may change but it is very unlikely. The final date has yet to be fixed for the release of the demo. The demo will not be released on a Saturday or Sunday. Unfortunately this is all the information I can give you at this time."
So, having this information, I will take a wild guess to suggest it will be with us early next week, once all of this Sun/GAME promotion has eased off a bit!
Anyway, let's just be patient - it will be here when it's here!
