"Legal aspect may require a more solid launch. We having a lot of issues with the Turbine billing system, buying Turbine points, spending Turbine points. They are all things like pay for 30 days of game time. Get 3 hours. Buy Turbine Points do not get your points. Buy something from the store. Do not get your stuff.
Here in the USA, our legal code is heavily weighted in favor of the business. Customers have very few rights. Very few options to get back at a company. Government will not intervene until a company starts screwing over hundreds of thousands of customers. Or the monetary total is the 10 - 100 million dollar range. Even then it takes years for the system to grind.
Codemasters has to obey EU and British law. What little I've ready about EU law. It is the other way around. The EU has no problem with wrestling with companies like Microsoft beating them up. USA government has no stomach to fight with a behemoth like Microsoft.
If this is the issue. Codemasters is afraid of what going to happen to them live launching F2P. Legal disaster. Customers go nuts. They are not going to say anything. Codemasters can not say something like - Turbine launched F2P too early. With too many defects. We can not launch a product that is in such horrid shape.
If this is the problem. Turbine not going to provide an answer like - we screwed the NA customers with a buggy launch. EU and British law does not let get away with kind of behavior / product.
