Forward Hatem Ben Arfa is set to join Marseille from Lyon, according to the Stade Velodrome club.
The highly-rated 21-year-old had been targetted as Marseille's number one transfer target this summer and was valued by Lyon at around £15 million euros (£11.8 million).
The France international will undergo a medical at Marseille on Wednesday before putting pen to paper later in the day.
Earlier in the week Marseille chairman Pape Diouf had expressed his belief that the talented youngster has the potential to become one of Marseille's all time great players.
"He is a boy in the tradition of [Roger] Magnusson or [Chris] Waddle. Here, we love that," Diouf said
A product of the Lyon youth system, Ben Arfa made 30 league appearances last season, netting six times, and had also reportedly attracted interest from Arsenal.
Ben Arfa has won six caps for France but was not a member of the Euro 2008 squad eliminated from the current tournament in the group stage.
