Spurs linked with raid for Remy

    Tue 20 May, 02:30 PM

Tottenham are thought to be considering a summer bid for highly-rated Lyon striker Loic Remy. The 21-year-old has come through the youth ranks at the Stade Gerland but has yet to make the expected impact.

He has played 12 times since making his debut two years ago - but he has never found the net for Lyon.

However, Remy has always been highly thought of in France and he has Under 21 and B caps for his country.

And the player's reputation was somewhat restored following a loan spell at relegated Lens.

He joined Sang-et-or in January and struck three times in just six games and although he could not help save them from relegation, he did show his scoring ability.

Lens did have an option to buy him for £6million - which they cannot now take up following their relegation, but that could open the door for Spurs.

Tottenham would not consider paying anything like £6million for Remy - but they could look to strike a deal with Lyon, who are seemingly willing to let him leave.

Lyon forward Sidney Govou. Being French and a bit tasty, our Sid has been linked with a move to Arsenal on several occasions, and after helping Les Gones to a seventh straight league title he expressed his desire to finish his career at the club - unless he leaves.

He said: "I know now that if I do not leave this season, I will finish at Lyon."

The O.L.'s goalkeeper Remy Vercoutre (28) who's actual contract ends in 2010, will soon renew it and shall remain at Lyon until 2012.

After winning the national league cup, Olympiakos would like to replace their actual trainer Jose Segura with O.L.'s Alain Perrin.

    Hajrá Lyon!
