#140977ÉN: So let me summarize this: a) even if I check on Marketplace if the content is available before the migration and b) even if I check with Support if those same contents WILL be available in the other region, these steps are still not to ensure that the license itself is international and nothing is guaranteed?
As this issue will never see a resolution, I would like to ask you to do a favour for me: please be so kind and check my account again for content licenses and give me information about which downloaded games have these purchased-region only lock thing or something.
MS: It would be great to use the licenses we purchased no matter the country we are located. Unfortunately, with the migration process you can lose access to content and migrating to original region it will not make you have access again.
For instance, a hard copy of a game where the disc is from UK will not work in the USA, for the same reason a download purchased for use in UK will not work in the USA even if the game title is available in USA. The publisher of the content use Regional Encoding for game disc and downloads too.
I wish there was a way to check which content has the region lock but there is no way I can see that. What I can say is that most of the contents have region lock, there are some that does not but this is a decision made by the publisher.
