Sources from the graphic market tipped nVidia planned to put Geforce 7900GS into retail market in late August. The price is between $179 and $199. It targets on ATi’s new mainstream product in October - Radeon X1650XT.
Geforce 7900GS is originally a special version for the OEM market, where it has been used in mainstream to high-end branded PC like Dell, HP and Lenovo. Share the same core with 7900GT as G71, the GS version has 1 less Pixel and Vertex Shader Unit. There are 20 Pixel Shader Pineline and 7 Vertex Shader Engine, like 7800GS. The core speed is 450MHz, together with 256MB memory at 1.32GHz
