    2.) NOD32 high-scores in recent antivirus comparatives

Virus Bulletin: 38th VB 100% award

ESET NOD32 Antivirus received its 38th VB 100% award in the June 2006
Virus Bulletin Comparative Review. ESET earned its latest VB 100%
score in this test of Windows XP antivirus products, extending its
eight-year track record as the vendor with the most awards.

NOD32 was the first product in this months test with which I could
find no real fault, reported Matt Ham, in his final comparative
review for Virus Bulletin. Full detection across all test sets and a
lack of false positives leave me with little to comment on and earn
ESET a well-deserved VB 100% to add to its collection.

NOD32 Antivirus software earned another Advanced+ Certification in
the May 2006 Anti-Virus Comparative No. 10 test. The Advanced+
Certification is granted to antivirus products that demonstrate
leading proactive detection capabilities with minimal false
    positives.

ESET NOD32 Antivirus achieved the highest score in proactive
detection overall in a field of 15 competing products. In the
Proactive detection of new worms, DOS, Windows and other OS and
script viruses/malware, ESET led by an 11 percent margin over its
next closest competitor, clearly demonstrating its strength in
identifying emerging forms of malware across a variety of platforms.
ESET won the Proactive detection of all new samples used in the
test, category, scoring two to three times better than major brands.
Of the two leaders in the Proactive detection of new backdoors,
Trojans and other malware category, NOD32 had by far the fewest
false positives, and took second place to a product with high false
    positives.

There is a wide range in detection abilities among antivirus
vendors. NOD32 consistently ranks at the top of the list of the most
proactive products across the tested malware categories, said
Andreas Clementi, Senior Tester, Anti-Virus Comparatives.
