A site is reporting that Universal Home Video may greenlight a direct-to-video BSG movie in the spring of 2007. (See the forum for more details.) The DVD would be available during the lengthy hiatus between Season 3 and Season 4. After the DVD release, Sci Fi Channel would air the movie before the start of Season 4.
The plans are contingent on Sci Fi greenlighting Season 4. Season 3 will wrap up sometime in March. A decision about Season 4 would be announced shortly thereafter, possibly by the end of April.
Assuming that Sci Fi orders a 4th season, those episodes likely won't air until the fall of 2007.
To sum up, we may get a DVD movie in the summer of 2007 before Season 4 begins in the fall.
