AC Milan use Foggia, Abbiati in offer for Roma's Chivu
    tribalfootball.com - March 13, 2006

AC Milan are moving for Roma defender Cristian Chivu.

Milan chiefs have chosen to revive their push for the Romania international after failing to talk Lyon down from their £8 million asking price for Brazilian defender Cris.

Milan are ready to offer cash plus one of Pasquale Foggia or Christian Abbiati in exchange for Chivu. Winger Foggia is on-loan at Ascoli this season, but will return to Milan in June - just as keeper Abbiati will from his time at Juventus.

The trump card Milan could play is patron Silvio Berlusconi's negotiations with Roma over a new TV deal involving Mediaset.

Mediaset are due to pour £80 million into the coffers of Roma and during negotiations Berlusconi could secure an agreement over Chivu.
