APPIANO GENTILE - Part two of Roberto Mancini's pre-Inter v Rangers news conference:
Is it more important for Adriano to rest or play at the moment?
"He needs to play, and train also if there were the chance. He played very well in the first half against Fiorentina, but slowed down a bit in the second half. He needs to train a bit more but there's no chance to at the moment and we will look for a solution."
Fiorentina midfielder Donadel said in an interview that he found Inter more of a team than last season. Could Adriano's contract renewal and the fact that he wants to be even more the symbol of this Inter have an influence on this? He already had a contract until 2008 and it could have been re-negotiated later on...
(Mancini smiles) "But in our times it's risky to wait too long to discuss a contract that expires in 2008. A player risks being left out of the team... Jokes aside, Adriano is the symbol of Inter, he's a young and important player and he will do even better in the coming years. The team was very happy because they knew they had played a tough match and played it well, and this was very important for everyone. There were a lot of new players last year and we had to get to know each other, but we're certainly much more of a team now."
On the subject of Juventus-Inter. Luciano Moggi said he wants an international-level referee. What do you think?
(Mancini smiles again) "You can't ask me these questions... There's a saying they use in Rome that would be perfect for Moggi, but at the moment it's better to concentrate on Rangers. And Moggi would understand it well because he comes from Civitavecchia..."
