Marcello Lippi claims the 2-1 win over Moldova boosted confidence, above all for Alessandro Del Piero, Christian Vieri and Alberto Gilardino.
"Del Piero played a wonderful game and was lauded by the fans," said the Coach after Italy's final World Cup qualifier at Lecce's Stadio Via del Mare. "I wish that happened more often rather than receiving insults. Both Vieri and Gilardino had the psychological need to score goals, so I am happy they were on target."
