Tim Cain: ToEE was designed with replayability in mind, so a non-linear storyline was developed. The player's path is partially determined by choices made early in the game (like choice of party alignment) and partially by choices made while playing (like whether to keep a certain item or to kill a certain creature). You can even choose to skip whole areas of the game, if you want. The endgame slideshow shows the results of all of your player's actions (or lack of action), so many people should be encouraged to a play again and see if they can change the ending.
