    ”In the pocket…of Death!”

    INTRODUCTION

    This intermission event will test each side’s ability to use both mobile spawn and paratrooper features effectively. This will be a two country contest between British and German forces.

    The sides are set with a pocket of resistance behind enemy lines, and only troops, trucks, airborne units and transport planes to fight with! Your goal is to eliminate your opponents’ pocket while linking your own to the front lines, thereby defeating the intrusion and claming new territory.

    The starting point allows for a 7-CP pocket, along with a substantial front line to defend using modified force strengths and two airfields from which to run your transport planes.

    Blue territory is British and Red Territory is German. The yellow circled CPs are the deployed airborne units and their Ju52 transport cache. Note that there are two Blue and two Red airborne deployments.



    This event will run from the end of this current map to 3PM Central time on New Year’s Eve (31 Dec 2004). At that time the server will be brought down and re-started in standard mode for the start of Campaign #17.

    FORCE STRUCTURE

    Each side (German and British) will have the same force structure, consisting of only troops, and trucks at army bases along with a deployment of Ju52s at the two airfields.

    SCORING

    Capturing towns and eliminating your opponents “pocket” are the primary goals. Keeping your side’s pocket alive is your secondary goal. Each side will be scored as follows:


    Each CP turned to, and still in, your ownership at end of map = 1 point (This means any CP that was owned by your enemy at the start and is owned by you at the end of the event)
    Each CP within your original pocket remaining in your ownership at the end of the event= 2 points
    Each enemy Airfield CP (of the original two) owned by your side at the end of the event = 3 points
    Closing your enemy’s pocket completely = 5 points

    At the end of the event a report will be generated and scoring tallies announced revealing the winner.
