Foglaltnick #3891 New Patch 1.7 Update 07.06.2004
Hello everyone,
As I can imagine, a lot of you are probably eager to find out some of the changes which have been made are finalized and defiantly appearing in Patch 1.7. Well, I can state for one thing, the list of changes is extremely long including bug fixes, exploit fixes, quest fixes as well as new features like Trade Window, and Char name change (for closed net), Account password change. There are also a lot more changes so let me go into some of the changes which we are currently working on:
• Fixed all known exploits which have been reported by players and beta testers
• Fixed a number of issues with Main and Sub quests
• Fixed the no-reward issue with random quests
• Fixed various “broken” items which contained skill ratings much higher than they should have
• Fixed an issue where the Merchant would not offer items depending on the player level
• Drop logic has been completely revised
• Set Items are having their stats revised
• Optimization done to improve Frame rates
• NEW: Integrated Chat function between Traders
• NEW: Revised and additional Item colour code and stats
• NEW: Trade Window Added
• NEW: Various new Easter eggs added
• NEW: Password change for Closed net account in Profile
• NEW: Character renaming in Closed net accounts
• Localisation fixes to some wrongly named items
• NEW: Completely reworked network-code (still in development and not finalised)
• NEW: Various new items, including new Set-Items and new Rare-Items
• Exploitation of character files in memory no longer possible
• Item duping no longer possible in closed net (still in development and not finalised)
• Reworked battle skills for characters (eg; Battle fog from Dark Elf is now dependable on its level)
• Monster strength system (depending on char level) has been changed and reworked
• Various PvP balancing issues (Details will come as soon as these are finalised)
These are just some of the many changes which are due to happen in Patch 1.7. There are still a lot of things on the drawing board and a lot of suggestions from the community which await evaluation and implementation time (some of which will most likely not make it into Patch 1.7) as well as further surprises which I will “neglect” to mention here.
There are some suggestions which have also been rejected due to time constraints. These suggestions include customizable key configurations, quest requests, and customizable character colours. Some things are just not possible in a small patch and we are mainly concentrating on balancing issues and the fixing of known quest bugs as well as new anti-cheat mechanisms.
The Beta test is still going and it is going strong. Those players who are participating on the beta are pleasantly surprised by the changes which have been made so far. A lot of their feedback is being used to improve on the patch even more and the process of the beta is moving along as scheduled. A final release date for Patch 1.7 has not yet been set but we are confident, depending on the test of course, that it our estimations (end of June) can be kept. Until then and until the next update,
Happy Gaming
