John David: Let me answer your question in 2 parts.
(1) Cheating? While we don't encourage optimization that affects image quality, we do support optimizations that improve performance while maintaining high image quality.
(2) Advanced Deferred Rendering? We found that the way current generation of benchmarks are written don't benefit from the way we implement Advanced Deferred Rendering. However this is a feature that we have been evangelizing with benchmark designers and ISVs in general. Like any new feature, we hope to see more apps take advantage of ADR.
