America's Army v1.9 is on the way.
We stopped by the US Army's booth at Gen Con Indy 2003 to find that although the demo stations at the show were running the currently available 1.7 client of the Unreal-powered America's Army first-person shooter, the upcoming v1.9 update should be released "in a matter of days," according to a representative. The update will feature the new combat medic missions, and subsequent updates including v1.9 and later will include such features as improved character models and facial animations (including lip-syncing), as well as a new game interface.
America's Army is a first-person shooter powered by the Unreal engine that models regular army exercises as well as actual field operations.
