SeeMyVision #1582 Portsmouth target Milan Baros looks to be on his way out of Lyon following fellow striker Fred's return to first-team action.
Les Gones president Jean-Michel Aulas reiterated on Wednesday that one of Baros or Fred would be leaving in the January transfer window - a stance the club have adopted all month.
But with Fred regaining his place in the starting XI for the league match against Lorient, and later reaffirming his desire to stay at the Stade Gerland, Baros appears the man most likely to leave.
The Czech Republic international - an unused substitute on Wednesday - is on the radar of Pompey after their manager Harry Redknapp declared his interest in the player.
Redknapp could step up his pursuit of Baros with chief striker Kanu suffering an injury while on African Nations Cup duty.
Aulas said: "It is agreed that between Fred and Baros, one or the other will leave the club by the end of the transfer window.
"But I can't say which one of the two, as we are continuing to receive offers for both."
Fred, who had wanted to quit Lyon after losing his place in the first team, is back in favour with coach Alain Perrin and put in a good display against Lorient.
"I am staying at Lyon," said the Brazil international.
"I am happy to have got playing time again, which is a sign of confidence in me."
Aulas also confirmed that Lyon were in negotiations with Nice about the signing of Ederson from the southerners.

Jean-Alain Boumsong is set to complete a move from Italian giants Juventus to French champions Lyon for around £2 million.
The centre-back will sign a three-and-a-half-year deal, tying him to the Ligue 1 club until the summer of 2011.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed the signing after Wednesday's Ligue 1 clash against Lorient.
Boumsong, who played for Auxerre, Rangers and Newcastle earlier in his career, will reinforce a defence that is shorn of injured duo Cleber Anderson and Patrick Muller until the end of the season and club captain Cris for another few weeks.
Boumsong looks to have played his last game for Juve on Wednesday night - and scored the late equaliser in a 2-2 draw against Internazionale in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia.
"I am very, very happy," he told French daily L'Equipe. "It is a fabulous opportunity for me.
"When Lyon approached me on Friday, I said 'yes' immediately."
Boumsong could make his debut for Les Gones in the Rhone-Alps derby against St Etienne on Sunday. -

The Czech Republic international striker is not the only one who is uncertain, as Lyon are undecided as to whether they want to sell him.
Lyon coach Alain Perrin routinely picks striker Karim Benzema in attack, and usually chooses between Fred and Baros to partner the young Frenchman.
Brazilian Fred has himself been the subject of interest to take him to the Premier League, and the Ligue 1 champions would be unwilling to let go of both strikers.
After not playing in Lyon's 3-0 loss to Lens, Baros was willing to leave but a day after he told his agent Paska: "I don't know how quickly I could adapt there. Euro 2008 is approcahing and I have to consider my options."
Asked whether Baros' third move in four years would be a bad step, Paska replied: "It is complicated and Milan is still hesitating. He will make his decision this week or, at the very latest, at the start of the next week."
The only certain news is that Lyon have received an official offer from Portsmouth to release Baros on a six-month loan.

Boumsong set for Lyon move
The former Newcastle centre-half was a regular starter during the Old Lady's promotion from Serie B last season, but has made just one substitute appearance this term.
While injury problems have been partly responsible for the Frenchman's peripheral role, boss Claudio Ranieri appears to have doubts about his ability to cope with the pace of the top flight.
Lazio and Besiktas have both been linked with a move for Boumsong, but it now appears that Lyon are in pole position for his signature.
"We should complete a deal for Boumsong at the start of the week," Les Gones president Jean-Michael Aulas declared.
"In the next few hours we will meet with Juventus officials to come to an agreement."

But despite the interest in him, Kadlec - who has spent time in Germany as a child when his father Miroslav played in the Bundelsiga - remains coy on the subject of a move to France.
"I learned the news yesterday," Kadlec said. "Mr Zika named some clubs which are reportedly interested and Lyon are the latest ones.
"It is great news, although I was formerly saying that I would prefer a move to Germany as I speak German.
"I will leave it for the moment, it is still a matter of negotiations between the clubs."

L’attaquant argentin a atterri en fin de matinée à l’aéroport de Lyon Saint-Exupéry. Après la traditionnelle série de tests médicaux, il devrait signer prochainement un contrat de trois ans et demi avec les champions de France.
César Delgado a finalement posé le pied sur le sol français peu avant 11h30. Son avion en provenance de Buenos Aire, via Milan, a atterri à Lyon avec une vingtaine de minutes de retard. Le joueur de Cruz Azul, arrivé en compagnie de ses deux représentants, a été accueilli par Rémi Garde avant de prendre la direction de son hőtel pour récupérer un peu du périple.
L’international argentin devrait passer une série de tests médicaux jusqu’à demain avant de parapher sans doute un contrat de trois ans et demi avec l’Olympique Lyonnais.
