A könyv amúgy 2006-ig nem jelent meg nyomtatásban, a kéziratot még Braun életében több kiadó is visszautasította, és a megjelenéséig ismeretlen volt a nagyközönség számára.

Még azt csinálhatták volna, hogy egy Falcon 9 első fokozatot átalakítanak Raptorra... de itt jön a probléma, hogy a Falcon 9 nem MetLOX, hanem KeroLOX hajtóanyag-párosra van építve, tehát gyakorlatilag teljesen újra kéne tervezni az egészet.
No ezért kellett egy abszolute low-cost tesztjármű...

1 a "későbbi" falcon 9 volt előbb (2010-ben indították először, a grashoppert 2012-ben)
2 a Grashopper célja az első fokozat visszahozásának kidolgozása volt
3 a Grashopper az F9 tartályait használta, a "komolyabb tesztekhez" F9 átalakított első fokozatát használták.
4 a Starhopper célja nem világos nekem. A rakétákat nem így szokás kipróbálni, hanem teszpadokon, vagy a kilövőállásban. A Raptor hajtómű is félkésznek tűnik. Valami prae-prae-prototípus lehet, aminek csak a CAD programban kébne léteznie.

A "Starhoppernek" hasonló a célja, mint a Grasshoppernek volt (az is alig hasonlított a későbbi F9-re)... ráadásul a komolyabb tesztekhez két másik prototípus is készül.

Ez egy rakás ócskavas volt, és is marad. Kicsit mélyebbre ásva, az is kiderült, hogy még csak a hajtómű sem ez lenne, ami ebbe a semmire sem jó ócska hulladékba raktak, és elnevezték Starshipnek. Gyakorlatilag semmit sem használnának belőle, és még csak a tömegarány sem stimmel, ez továbbra is csak marketing eszköz, parasztvakítás. De a BFR és félévente feltűnő koncepciói sem fog(nak) megvalósulni az is biztos, mert nem lesz rá kapacitás, pénz. Ennyi.
