Shevchenko: Milan Have Done A Lot For Me

The Ukrainian forward is glad to have two new strikers upfront.
Andriy Shevchenko is not worried with the increased competition in the attack department after the arrivals of Christian Vieri and Alberto Gilardino, on the contrary he feels it could help him play better.

“It’s from Bierhoff’s time that Milan did not have target men in the centre of its attack. For my movements and my way of playing, I feel better this way. It’s good if upfront there are attackers with their characteristics."

Shevchenko commented the clash he had with Carlo Ancelotti in previous weeks.

“There was too much talk about it. When two men talk between themselves it’s fair that the things remain between them. I believe a lot in this group and club. I’m at Milan and want to remain at Milan, this club and the President Berlusconi have done a lot for me.”

Cicinho To A.C Milan?

Italian media claim that talented Brazilian right back Cicinho could be on his way to A.C Milan in January.
Milan are interested in signing the quality defender and see him as the successor to their experienced World Cup winning defender Cafu.

It has been stated that Milan are willing to sign Cicinho from Sao Paulo for a sum superior to that of US$15 million.

Cicinho (25), who currently plays for Sao Paulo has had a wonderful last few months with both club and country.

He played an important role in helping Brazil win the Confederations Cup in Germany, and also helped Sao Paulo win the Copa Libertadores, and for many he was considered to be the MVP of the tournament.

In recent months Cicinho has been linked to various top European clubs including Juventus and Real Betis, but from reports it is most likely that he will be heading to A.C Milan next year.

Sistemato l�attacco con Gilardino, Galliani deve ora fare i conti, in proiezione futura, con una difesa su cui pesa in maniera tangibile l�aspetto anagrafico: Costacurta è all�ultimo ano di attività, Maldini smetterà a fine 2007 ma comincia ad avere qualche noia fisica alle ginocchia che fatalmente ne limiterà l�impiego, e anche Stam non può dare più di tanto garanzie di longevità.

Ecco perchè l�attenzione dei dirigenti rossoneri si è spostata sul settore arretrato, dove il primo tassello è stata la riconferma di Kaladze fino al 2010. Serve tuttavia un�latro centrale di talento, possibilmente giovane, ragion per cui gli osservatori rossoneri hanno concentrato in questo senso le proprie attenzioni sul mercato internazionale.

Sotto osservazione da tempo il 19enne dell�Anderlecht Vincent Kompany, che piace anche all�Inter e a parecchi club inglesi. Il giocatore è considerato di sicuro valore, ma l�agguerrita concorrenza fa pensare alla possibilità di un�asta che in via Turati vorrebbero evitare dopo i notevoli esborsi economici delle ultime stagioni per Nesta e Stam.

Galliani conta dunque di sfruttare la corsia preferenziale istaurata con l�Udinese, e il nome in questione è quello del brasiliano Felipe, più �vecchio� di due anni rispetto a Kompany ma anche con tre anni di esperienza alle spalle nel campionato italiano. Fra l�altro coi friulani sarebbe anche più facile trovare un accordo che comprenda contropartite tecniche, visto che i Pozzo hanno iniziato a sparare alto per il loro gioiellino (12 milioni).

SHEVCHENKO: 'I feel fine here ...'

MILAN - Corriere della Sera reported what Andriy Shevchenko had to say about the Rossoneri: 'Milan have always believed in me. They bought me and have never given up on me, even when they have been offered lots of money. I feel fine here ... president Berlusconi has done a lot for my family. I have to recognise what Milan and Berlusconi have done. Milan is my home, after all I have been here seven years ... there have been plenty of successes. Italy has also become my second home, I like Italy and love the way of life.'

MILANELLO - Kaka then talked about the title rivals: 'Milan, Inter and Juventus are the three most prepared team for this season, but in any league there is a surprise team. On paper these are the three top sides at the start of the season. I hope it finishes well for us. As for Kaka against Adriano, I don't like to draw similarities. I have scored a lot in the derbies as it's part of the team but Adriano does everything by himself. Samuel believes Inter will win because of Adriano, I would reply that Adriano is a friend but I would hope that a team with Shevchenko, Gilardino, Vieri and Inzaghi would win.'
