Nyilván nehezebb detektálni, de nyilván nem is lehetetlen. LEO műholdakra hárulhat ebben a kulcs szerep. Tény hogy több kell ebből.
The number of tracking satellites could balloon up to 500 in total if all goes according to SDA’s planned National Defense Space Architecture (NDSA).
SDA announced Tuesday that it had awarded SpaceX $149 million and L3Harris $194 million to each build four satellites for the agency’s Tracking Layer Tranche 0 designed to detect ballistic, cruise and hypersonic missiles using a wide field of view IR sensor. The low-cost satellites are supposed to “provide missile warning and tracking information to national defense authorities, and tracking and cueing data for missile defense elements,” according to SDA officials.

“It’s imperative we have the capability to look down on the warm Earth and pick targets out of that scene,” the agency said in a statement.
“The Prototype Infrared Payload will help inform MDA’s development of the payload for the Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor, which is on course for an on-orbit demonstration using two prototype space vehicles in 2023. These space vehicles will demonstrate the unique sensitivity and fire-control quality of service performance necessary to support the hypersonic kill chain.
