"You do not need Insight to use the Resonant bell. You need to be in the same area as you friend. IE, Central Yyarmn-whatever. And generally you need to be away from a boss area. So if you're standing in the area for the first boss or any boss area for that matter you need to be away from it and out of that arena.
Also, you need to be within 10 lvls +/- 10% in order to be summoned. It's been recommended that you ring your Resonant bell PRIOR to him/them ringing their Beckoning Bell.
Using the Beckoning bell does take one insight."
