Perna joins Parma

Parma have signed Armando Perna from Modena. The central defender, who was born in Palermo, has signed a contract until June 2011. The 25 year old had been chased by coach Stefano Pioli in the summer but revealed that he was pleased to be finally a Parma player: 'I am sorry to have arrived five months late but I hope to make my contribution to the team.'
