The Forza series has come a long way: By the end of 2016, the beloved racing franchise had topped the $1 billion mark in lifetime sales at retail, developer Turn 10 Studios announced today.
Forza Horizon 3, the latest entry in the nearly 12-year-old series, catapulted the franchise above that milestone with sales of 2.5 million units. The game helped maintain Forza’s spot as the best-selling racing franchise of the current console generation, according to NPD Group data from November 2012 through January 2017.
