AC Milan players split over Shevchenko return
tribalfooball.com - December 01, 2006
AC Milan's senior player group is split over the potential return of Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko.
Shevchenko could return to Milan in January on-loan after a difficult first few months of his career at Stamford Bridge, with lawyers convinced his eight years in Italy qualify him as an 'assimilated' player - similar to Adrian Mutu's eventual move to Juventus last season.
AS says the Milan dressing room is divided over the Ukrainian's return, with club captain Paolo Maldini and midfielder Rino Gattuso against the prospect, while Kaka and Clarence Seedorf are in favour of the deal being put together.
Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has left hospital after his collapse earlier this week and is overseeing talks with Chelsea and Sheva, who he regards as like a son.
