SERGINHO: ‘Focusing on Treviso’
2/6/2006
MILANELLO - Serginho spoke on the Milan Channel at the end of morning training. Turning to last night’s draw with Lazio, he said: ‘We played well and controlled the game, dominating a good part of the second half and creating a series of opportunities even in the first. The ball, however, did not make it into the back of the net. Now we must forget about this game and switch our focus to Wednesday’s match against Treviso because we can put on a good performance and obtain a positive result.’
SHEVA: 'Well done Peruzzi'
2/5/2006
ROME - Sheva had this to say: It's a pity my header that hit the bar didn't go in but I have to congratulate Peruzzi who did really well. We didn't play an excellent match. We are only taking a point back home but the team played well enough. We have changed the way we are playing but not our identity, we are an attack-minded side and we created chances this evening. Let's not talk about the table anymore!'
ANCELOTTI: ‘Good test, right attitude’
2/5/2006
ROME - Carlo Ancelotti’s analysis at the end of the 0-0 draw between Milan and Lazio: ‘The team was cautious in the first half, we tried to keep the play high in order to avoid the counter-attack. We could have been more precise, but overall it went well. In the second half we created more opportunities, we only lacked a goal. It was a good test, even if it wasn’t a good result. This is a starting point from which to grow, improve and find that consistency that has been missing recently. The team have taken a step forward, everyone gave more and they played as a team. There was a bit of apprehension and a lack of nimbleness in the play, but everyone worked really hard and had the right attitude. Perhaps there was a little bad luck, but next time it will turn out better.’
NESTA: ‘We deserved to win’
2/5/2006
ROME - Alessandro Nesta on the Milan Channel: ‘We were a little too slow in the first half, but in the second we were more courageous and did better. In any case, we deserved to win but Peruzzi made a great save. We suffered very little because we didn’t concede much space and were better able to cover well. Now we are looking towards Treviso. There’s time to get back on track. The boos? I didn’t hear any.’
