AC Milan board agrees to push for Lugano deal
tribalfootball.com - December 29, 2005
AC Milan transfers chief Ariedo Braida is pushing to close a deal for Sao Paulo defender Diego Lugano.
Milan chiefs are split over their pursuit of a new defender, with vice-president Adriano Galliani preferring Roma's Jonathan Zebina.
However, it's understood Braida will have his way and a deal for Lugano will be agreed in January.
Milan's Brazilian contact Leonardo stated this week that Uruguay international Lugano was on a shortlist of names under consideration, though was quick to deny an agreement had already been struck.
