Andriy Shevchenko has been voted the best player of the former soviet states by Russian sports newspaper Sports Express. The Ukrainian star polled 219
votes (from a possible 225) from the top sports journlists of 15 countries that used to make up the Eastern Bloc. Andriy picked up this important award
last year at the San Siro.
