AC Milan ahead of Liverpool in Helguera race

AC Milan have stolen a march on Liverpool in the race for Real Madrid defender Ivan Helguera.
Helguera is off contract in the summer and keen to move to Anfield next season, however Liverpool have been dragging their feet over making the defender aware of their interest.
Not so Milan, where vice-president Adriano Galliani has made contact with Helguera's representatives, assuring the Spaniard they want to bring him to Italy in the summer.
