AC Milan's Ancelotti on Berlusconi: I just grin and bear it
    tribalfootball.com - October 2, 2005

AC Milan patron Silvio Berlusconi insists he's happy with the team's performance so far this season.

The Rossoneri are struggling to make much of an impact in either Serie A or the Champions League so far, which has increased speculation that coach Carlo Ancelotti could be on his way out.

However, Berlusconi has confirmed that there will be no coaching changes at Milan this season - although whether or not Ancelotti will complete his contract which ends in June 2007 is a different matter.

"The tournament is long," said Berlusconi on the club's official website.

"I have a lot of confidence in my players and I can only say that Ancelotti will remain at Milan until the end of the season."

With only 10 points taken from five league games, the Rossoneri are well aware that they must make some adjustments if they wish to contend for the Scudetto.

Their midweek 2-2 Champions League draw at Schalke on the day Berlusconi celebrated his 69th birthday has not helped Ancelotti either.

"The relationship that I have with Berlusconi is like that of a father and a son," Ancelotti said.

"When a father tells you off the son just listens."

A victory against Reggina would bring a much-needed calmness at Milan, and it could see the Rossoneri reduce their five-point deficit with Serie A leaders Juventus.

A draw at the Delle Alpi between Juve and Internazionale on Sunday night would be the most favourable result for the Rossoneri, who are looking to clinch the top position in the standings by the end of the month - a possible scenario considering that Milan host Juve on October 30.

"The most important thing now for us is to find equilibrium right now," said Ancelotti.

"We need more consistency and to find more fluidity in our game.

"We are making improvements but it's a slow process."
